Alright, here we are.
The movie starts out quite similar to the original nightmare on elm street. Same characters and plot to start out with. (but with some better performances then the first in my opinion.) Then after the same exact thing happens in the first one.
The special effects are naturally better then in the first. The dreams are slightly different but more or less the same.
Storyline is a tad different but more or less the same.
Its not a bad movie, but it certainly isn't a terrible movie. Nothing overtly terrible about it.
I liked that they went for gritty rather then goofy, since the goofy had been over done by the many, (most of which very bad) sequels of Nightmare on els street) It was a change, i liked the new freddy, and some of the acting wasn't terrible.
Overall it not cinematic genius. But it is passable, if just barely.
5.75/10 fluffy clouds.

eh i dont like remakes of movies...so i never watched it, but how did you come up with the number 5.75/10 lol
