((Before you flame me here, this is meant to be an intelligent conversation forum.)) Now that FMA is coming to an end (I will not cry again) the upcoming ending is on all of our minds. I personally want an ending unlike the first anime, part of me fears though that Al will not be coming back (If we see him reunited with his mother I will cry) and that it will be Ed who wins. Heck, maybe even Hohenhiem will give his life for his sons, he is a stone after all.
Now, for my rant of the first anime:
-WTF was up with Izumi's kid being Wrath? He was a useless character always yelling "Mommy" I hated him so even as a ten year old kid!
-Sloth being Ed and Al's mother (homunculus) was just moronic, I hated her even more than Wrath.
-Poor Izumi did not get the screen time she deserved and she was killed off for the movie! >:{
-Fuhrer Bradley was perfect (even if he was Pride)
-The ending sucked! Ed and Al never came to our world, the never saw Hitler, NONE OF THAT!

Selim's role being completely awful. He was such an annoying kid! And don't get me started on his dub. And if you think about it, he was the one who killed Bradley.
Robo-Archer was kind of an a**-pull. I mean, he took down loads of soldiers, and nobody excet Hawkeye thought of shooting him on his human side?
Dante was the worst villain ever. She wanted immortality; why exactly? So she could remain young forever. Wow, exciting. Now, Father on the other hand, wants to become God. That's what you call a worthy villain.
Izumi's death in the film- although I feel that her death will be in the final chapter. Depressing, but she's not gonna survive much longer. She was much more awesome in the manga/Brotherhood.
Even though I'm such an anti-Edwin shipper, the boys leaving her at the end of the film really got me down. They left without saying goodbye! Their childhood friend, Ed's implied love, and the girl who'd stuck by them, they left without a second thought. It was practically heartbreaking. Speaking of the film, Eckart was absolutely pathetic. What was with the lack of cool villains the first time around?!
But even with the flaws, it made a damn good show. <3.

I hated Wrath. The first anime could have been just as good, maybe even better, if he wasn't in it.
I despised how much screen time Rose got in the anime. Not to mention that she acted like a bumbling idiot in the last two or three episodes.
Dante was a horrible villian. Not only was her need to remain youthful stupid but her justification for revenge against Hohenheim was just childish.
Russell and Fletcher Tringham were an exact copy of the Elric brothers. How uncreative!
What the hell was with the ending? Ed sacrifices his own life to revive his brother? That's ******** stupid!
The movie was a huge let down. Both of the Elric brothers end up stuck in our world and if I remember correctly, Gracia and Elicia were killed during the bombing in Central. That is ******** up!

-Rose stressed she ruins everything. She went from being a really annoying chick at the beginning of the series with no mind of her own to some mute girl with a rape baby! (sorry to all you mute girls out there with rape babies if you are there)
-Russell and Fletcher I did not mind, I did not like them but didn't hate them at the same time. They were in one of the novels after all...
-Robo-archer (I call him Robo-cop with my friends) He was just stupid and the scripct writers must have been either trying to end the series fast or high when they came up with him.

I loved the first anime. I'm not here to flame, but I did want to give a few explanations to some of you. It may not change any opinions, but hey, there's no harm in trying.
question Dante wanted eternal life why?
Most who seek eternal life do it for the reason that they fear their own mortality. They seek to cheat death, that's all. A very believable human action.
question Wrath?
you have to remember: the origins of the homunculi in the first anime was human transmutation. It made sense that Izumi had made a homunculus. And the kid had issues. If your mom gave you to some scary monster when you were just a baby, wouldn't you have issues too?
question What's with the Rose bashing? She wasn't my fav either, but she's not a strong person. period. So expecting her to be able to go against the crowd was kind of silly. And hello? She was raped. May have caused problems with her psyche.
question And the storyline was different because they made it long before the writer had planned on finishing it. So they had to make up something different.
I haven't read past manga 4 yet, but I read mangas too fast, and I'm not just gonna go read 'em online. So I'll probably watch Brotherhood sometime.
My friend hates the way the brothers act in the second series. He says their too childish. I felt the urge to remind him: Hello! They're children! Duh!
I loved what they did with sloth. But I could have done without all my favorite characters meeting their doom so tragically. I bawled like a baby.

u know i think everybody hated Dante and Archer
i really hated sloth i liked the sloth from brotherhood better
and the ending to both the show and movie man i really hope brotherhood doesn't end like those two did..
oh and i didn't like the villain from the movie she was as bad a Dante i mean father is the best villiain in all of FMA
oh yea and as all of u said wrath was just plain annoying to me.

Second is that I just realize why I dislike (note not hate) Archer. He was basically a weaker version of Kimblee. Am I right?
