Ok to start off why was Jesus the only one who could atone for our sins?

Because he was farther advanced in his eternal progression than the rest of us and had, as the eldest child of the Father, attained a position in the Godhead. None of the rest of us had the experience or the responsibility that he did.

yes, and he had not sinned at all.
It was because of God's love for us that he sent his only begotten Son. It is through Christ that man can be saved.
Can you differentiate between being immortal and having eternal life?

Immortality is the inability to die; eternal life is the ability to progress to higher states of being.

correct. and eternal life is the only one in which we are able to live with our Father in Heaven.
In Acts 2:38 it says "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
From this verse what must we do to show that we accept the Atonement?

yup, that one was a pretty easy question, with the help of the verse.
In Doctrine and Covenants 19:16-17 it says "For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent; But if they would not repent they must suffer even as I."
This verse makes it very clear that you need to repent!!!!
Do you have any questions, comments, or concerns?
