Dimon

I got Dimon orignially for a science experiment. ( A test to see who was smarter. Timed a mouse, hamster, rat, and gerbil going through a maze ) She was the first gerbil I ever owned. I named her Dimon because that's how I thought Diamond was spelled back then, and I just kept it that way. I had her for about 6 years before her demise. She got very fat near the end, though I only feed her a small portion once a day. If this isn't normal someone please tell me.

Mckiey

I found Mckiey at McDonald's she appeared to have been abandoned there. She was cowering in the corner of a door outside. ( Definitely not a while rat plus we don't have wild rats here only mice ) I scooped her up in a shoebox and took her home. I happened to have one extra cage since I had just lost one of my Dimon. In about two weeks she surprised me with 12 baby ratties. I barely owned her over a year before she developed a very large tumor on her rear. Then I lost her. Though I have no idea how old she was when I got her. If anyone knows how to tell please inform me.

RIP
Kate
No pic (She was a black hooded female)
Kate is one of the children of Mckiey. She was only a year old when she suddenly died. I don't know exactly what happened she was doing just fine the day before but in the morning she was dead. The only thing I think that was different about the night before was that I gave my ratties a treat: the stem of some broccoli. sad If anyone knows if something is wrong with feeding them broccoli please let me know.

broccoli is fine for rats. she may have gotten sick. some illnesses can kill a rat very quickly. my old rat, juggles, was fine one day, lazy the next, then dead by the end day.

dimon and mckiey were very lucky you found them from the sound of it, especially mcdiey. she had a short life but at least she didnt die out in the wild, she died being fed fgood food, a warm place to live, and surrounded by your love
