Gryffons are usually protayed as having a head of falcon and the body of a lion. Although they can have other animal parts. Gryffons are really aggressive towards people who do them wrong, and are considered one the most intelligent of creatures. They are wise and strong, and they make great companions. I like Harry Potter because in the books it portrays a Hypogrif- it is a form of Gryffon. Also the the crest for Griffindor has one on it. Your job is to come up with anything about Griffins.

The Griffindor crest doesn't have a griffin it's just a lion.

Griffins (Gryphons, Gryffons) are 'half-creatures."
Lion tails, lion haunches, lion back legs, eagle head, eagle wings, eagle talons.
(I have heard of Griffins that are part-owl, but the general type is eagle/lion, so far as I know.)

The talons on the front legs are said to be as large as an oxen's horn, and very sharp.
Generally guardians, usually very wise and strong.

Lewis Carroll wrote of a griffin, whose companion was the mock-turtle,
and who spoke with Alice on her journey in Wonderland.

Actually a Hippogriff comes from when Gryphons and horses mate which is usually impossible cause they hate each other

The griffin is a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle. As the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle was the king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature, though some believe the griffin was the ancient misconception of a Protoceratops. Griffins are normally known for guarding treasure and well valued priceless possession. In antiquity it was a symbol of divine power and a guardian of the divine.
