I always go support in an MMORPG. But this time, I have two dedicated choices.
On one hand, White Mage gets good buffs, and better healing.
On the other hand Bards get great buffs and debuffs, but have to rely on a subjob for healing. On the other hand, there are relatively few Bards out there.
Anyone have some advice?

Since it's been a while since I stopped playing FFXI.... details are fuzzy. So bare with me.
There are few bards out there because Corsairs are better and in higher demand since they both have a limit of 2 buffs at a time and COR can grant a bonus to xp gained per battle. BRD has a harder time finding a party at lower levels while WHM has a harder time finding parties at higher levels. RDM and SCH can sometimes make better healers than WHMs because of their diversity and stronger buffs.
Also, healing as a BRD isn't something you should even be thinking about. half level spells are almost useless, especially after level 20. Most BRDs go /whm for the chance that they can save someone's life with a last minute cure, or raise someone to save the WHM's MP.
