Welcome to Gi. Here we role-play and write, not always in that order. You're probably already aware that Karu Hitoshi is master of all. By his side are LadyMnemosyne and Ally of Memories. Hear the masses tremble in our wake.
And now, without further gilding the lily and with no more ado, here's how to play this game.
1. Read the rules. You are of course expected to follow these rules, and when creating a role-play of your own adhere to the guild rules.
2. Check out the back story, it helps to know what type of world your in before you go off in search of adventure: Origins is a good place to start. Individual role-plays will also have a synopsis depicting the details of their own stories. Now remember, if you want to part-take in the mainstream role-play, you should check out the back stories and what not, but if not, simply go to misc. role-play and get your rp on.
3. Each continent has (or will have) its own role-plays and storyline, set within the world of Gi. Misc. Role-play is meant to be a place where you (the role-players) can create your own role-plays, and/or partake in others role-plays.
4. Here there is a lot of history, lore, good, evil, and all manner of things in between giving the world of Gi depth and breadth. Included are races, magic, beasts, legends and lore, and origins, fabled weapons and occupations (pay special attention to Races and Origins). These threads and their information keep us in balance and prevent rifts in the time-space continuum. Reference these threads when creating your character(s) for the sake of continuity and consistency within the world. And who knows, you may even be inspired to write some lore of your own. Be sure to confer with one of the crew before posting away, so we can ensure it all fits together.
5. Here's the kicker, you can just forgo the mainstream role-play and simply make your way to the Misc. Role-Play forum, and role-play there. There you can create role-plays, and participate in them with less the aggravation of trying to make a profile for the mainstream.
6. Take a breath. Let it all sink in. We know, it's huge.
7. If you're feeling particularly froggy, you can start on a profile. Find a promising role-play, read what's required for a character within that story, and off you go.
8. Here's a paper bag if you feel lightheaded. Deep breaths. When we get the extracurricular up, we'll be sure to regale you with those details as well. In the meantime, go play.
