And if it's not I do apologize. I didn't think it mattered too much which one I picked since both were unnamed as of yet.
Anyway, lets start out with some ideas. What kinds of rpg's would you like to see? Any particular system?

I have many Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 books and a couple of d20 books too, I also have a few Rifts books so if you have any questions about either feel free to ask.

This is quite probably a stupid question, but what are those? The types I'm used to are either journal based (which wouldn't work well here, of course) or involve threads, like in forums, where one person writes what their character does and someone else replies with their character's actions and so on.
Apologies for my ignorance. sweatdrop

Ah, not a stupid question at all. What the books I've mentioned are are just particular gaming systems that one can use to create a character with which to play.
On a forum like this the game play would be as you have so aptly described, you would write the actions of your character and someone else would write the actions/reactions of their own character.
it's usually best if everyone creates characters from the same system to play just because that keeps the playing field somewhat level but it is not required.

I can do forum-styled rp, and D&D. Rifts I haven't tried yet, but from what I've heard of it - it's giving me a hellish amount of character concepts, and it would be cool to get some of those out. @.@
In either case, as long as we can have both types of rp - the freestyle forum-stuff and the structured systems, I am happy. O:

Since the role play here will be based upon what there is interest for I'm sure there will be both kinds of role play. I mearly mentioned that I have books from certain systems so that if anyone had questions about those systems they would be aware that there is a reference nearby.

Yes, we've got a whole new subforum just for us. Lets think up some ideas and get some role playing going on.

OOH! OOH! I _LOVE_ D&D! It's like, my next passion after books! (Actually, the fight each other a lot and video gaming keeps taking lunges, but its Rapier of Possesion and Ability-To-Hit-A-Dumb-Button-137-Times-In-10-Seconds cracks and breaks, releasing its hold on my fantasies(and worthwhile muscle actions) after a couple weeks and together, book-reading and D&D send it back to the abyss it was spawned from! domokun In the aftermath of all the dust sweeping up from rapidly vibrating fingers on a purple or red controller, books and D&D what their blades, book-reading with its Spear of Fascination and Wisdom and D&D with its Axe of all things fantasy, and they plunge into battle for sumpremacy while video gaming nurses its wounds and curses under its breath about one day, book-reading and D&D shall rue the day they turned to destroy it together! But I know that'll never happen. mrgreen )

Wow! That was impressive. Now if we just had a few others we could get a game going.

OMG why do realistic modern RPs not exist at all? gonk I have a character I really want to try out ina school setting, but all school rps are either fantasy, or allow weapons for some reason, or are uber-prestigious you-can't-get-in-unless-you're-Mozart things. ><
All I want is a crappy small-town art college. ._.

Call of Cthulhu? Arkham University? We could do a Lovecraftian thing here.

Hmmm...I may not know enough about history to do a realistic medieval role play.
Call of Cthulhu would be set in the late 1920's so it'd be pretty close to what we know now or...I might be able to update it to even be modern. I have zero books for CoC and would be winging it from what I've read of Lovecraft's works. But if you're interested we could give it a try.
