According to legend Harpies are beautiful bird-like women, that lead men to their deaths with their beautiful tantalizing songs. Harpies are usually female, only speak with shrieks and cackles, but can sing in human. They eat anything the can scavenge, but prefer human flesh. Your job is to come up with anything dealing about harpies.

Harpies habitats are the air, and are noted as probably being personifications of storm winds. They are described as woman/bird hybrids. They were known for being vicious, cruel, and violent, and were used by the gods to punish crimes commited on Earth. Earlier stories of the harpy in mythology describe them as being ugly creatures with the head of a woman and the body of a vulture. Harpies as beautiful, winged bird/women hybrids are a later development in Greek mythology, thought to have been softened over time, much as the Siren was by popular sentiment of the Athenians.

I've never heard of a beautiful harpy. D:

The movie - and possibly the book, I haven't read it - The Last Unicorn has a harpy.
She was captured by the witch, Mommy Fortuna, and kept in a cage along with other non-magical beasts who have been glamored to look like monsters.
She tricks (convinces) the unicorn in to setting her free, and gets her revenge on Mommy Fortuna.

There are also harpies in the His Dark Materials triolgy.
Really really hideous ones.
They live in the underworld and torment the dead.
