I was a huge TF fan as a kid (the toys were awesome, and that animated movie was AMAZING). So naturally, I was extremely pissed at both of the movies (it's called "Transformers"... not "Sam and his stupid tramp"). Naturally, the games corresponding the games didn't look any better (and neither did any of the other previous games before them).
But finally....FINALLY... after years and years of watching my childhood be ruined, it seems like someone is doing something right. War for Cybertron looks like a game for the original fanbase. It's got a timeline setting that should be incredibly interesting (during the war [obviously] right before the Autobots head off to Earth). It sounds like there's a lot of customization available, including a "make-your-own-TF" system (I will be all over that like me on food). Now whether this game is as good as it looks remains to be seen, but you can be sure I'm going to check it out once it hits stores (June 22).

I pre-ordered it yesterday, and the guy at Gamestop told me about the demo...so I've been playing that all night. Dear God, is this game awesome. Granted, not much relevant to TF in the demo, but it's got me pumped for the game.
And as I explained to someone online who asked if the game was gay...."It's like Modern Warfare...except you can turn into a truck."

War for Cybertron, huh? What consoles will it be on? I've been itching to play a better transformers game than the Transmetals Beast Wars fighter game for the 64...

I think it's out for all the major platforms (360, PS3, PC, Wii and DS). So unless you're still stuck on Super Nintendo, you should be able to get this game.

Hmm...I'll probably pick it up for the 360. Don't want to take my chances on a wacky control system on the Wii.

So far, my only beef with the game is that there's no option for offline co-op. I know "online play" is a big deal nowadays, but it would have been a nice option to let two people share the same TV (haven't checked in multiplayer yet, but I doubt it didn't look like there was any option for split screen).
The banter between the characters is awesome. And there are lots of little nods to the series and the movie (the good one...not that Michael Bay garbage). Boss fights are pretty cool (especially fighting Soundwave). Controls are easy to get. And, for fans of the franchise, you get to play as some of the coolest characters (Starscream, Megatron, Optimus....No Prowl though...and since it's before G1, no Dinobots or Constructicons...although, I hear Grimlock is unlockable on the DS).

What, no Beast Wars Transformers? DAMMIT! ...Still, should be a fun game.
