Unfortunately I really only know 4E, so i voted for that. However on the upside it would allow players to send each other their characters easily because of the character builder application.

True though without a subscription to D&D insider, you miss out on a lot. I could not have built the character I am using in my brother's 4e campaign without his access to the full builder.
