So I decided to give this game a try (mainly cause Red Dead Redemption wasn't in) and actually, I was more than pleased with it. It was a pretty awesome game.
The setup is interesting, as the story is told in episodes...and with it's horror/suspense setup, it's a lot like shows such as Harper's Island or Happy Town...without sucking as much as shows like Harper's Island or Happy Town. The story kept me going through some of the more challenging parts of the game.
In terms of gameplay, the controls do take some getting used to. And even by the end, at times there were so many things to do during a fight (shine the flashlight beam, shoot the gun, dodge, use a flair, reload...) that things get chaotic. However, I beat it on Normal...so to people who are more experienced at gaming, the game is by all means beatable (there are only a few moments where you're completely swamped). There are also a lot of moments where you're not in combat, but just exploring the setting (which looks amazing). There are also lots of collectibles so the game does have replay value for those looking to 100% it.
I give it a 5/5. Rent it if you're not sure, but it if you've got the money.
