Didn't they try to make a Mortal Kombat movie before now?

I seem to remember that it was also a giant steaming sack of crap.
Don't see any reason why this would be any different.

I didn't think this was a real trailer, but rather a
video that a guy made on his own time, in order
to convince the WB to make a new Mortal Kombat
movie, with this as it's premise. Basically, an
attempt to show the big guys that we can do
much, much better than the 2 movies from the
90s, and to try and bring more credibility to
video game movie adaptations.
