i wish my country wins (Argentina) cuz people here are pretty addicted to soccer. A lot of friends said that if Argentina win the cup they will run naked on the streets. and all the people do that kind of promises for soccer. it's something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xIyZ_1pv_Ireally. It's funny cuz if they lose the streets will be empty for a week, really... discuss: -where are you from? -How much the people in your country likes soccer? -do you like soccer? -people running naked on the streets.

Most people in England are pretty crazy about football,
but I'm not really that into it. I played it as a kid, sure,
but I don't really find sports that interesting. Perhaps
the fact that I was born in Canada has something to
do with that, who knows.
I still like it better than other sports though, and I
sport my Manchester United hat when I go out, but
it's just not that big a deal to me. I'm doing University
in Germany now, and football's pretty big there too.
I guess it's really just Canada and the US that aren't
that fussy about it. xD

yeah, today i talked in the GD with a german boy about football.
i don't really like football... it's kind boring to me.. i only like it in the world cup... it's really fun to support Argentina here xD

I know I previously said I wasn't really into football, but
I've actually been following the World Cup this year. xD
Who does everyone want to win? England or Germany for
me. I think Germany is the better team (did you see the
thrashing they gave Australia?) but my heart is really with
England, probably since I'm half English (spent a few of my
young years there as well) and don't have as big a connection
with Germany since I just go to University there. xD

Many people think Germany will win, but in this game every little opportunity makes the difference I support Argentina biggrin

--I don't think I know anyone personally who loves soccer... but there are definately going to be people who love it because of the country's mix. Honestly I haven't heard much about the cup to the extent I did this year, mainly because our spanish teacher drilled in the 'Waving Flag' song in our heads. mrgreen I know we have people who love it, but not to the mass extent in other places.
--I don't watch sports myself, but I'm fascinated by the world wide love of football, how everyone is watching... my teacher explained how in a restraunt, everyone just disappeared because their team had scored. XD Sounds like fun!
--No, I've never heard of streakers for the cup here, though it is certainly possible. ^^

I really don't like soccer that much, let alone the world cup.
I only started watching recently because of what the English goalee(sp) did against the US.

And now Koreas loses 7-0 what a shame.. You can't say a game is a waste of time remembering that there is more than a half of the world that plays it.

I'm sort of sad that I'm not back in Germany until
after the World Cup. I'm sure it would have been
great to watch Germany's games with their fans.
Oh well. Maybe some other time.
