Okay~ I understand where it's coming from though.
In the USA these type of pictures are a big nono and girls that age should not pose/look like that.
But they have to realize that the culture here and japan is different. Where here this is unacceptable in Japan it's fully okay~ it's all in the culture.
I'm sure we do things here that the Japanese don't think is appropriate.

These girls are a little too young for my comfort level (same reason why I don't like AKB48--even the girls born in the late-90's are pulled into the fanservice aspect, and it seems a little exploitative when they're young) and I'm not a fan of the helium voiced idols, so they have never really appealed to me.
Everyone is freaking out because H!P tends to emphasize their idols' personalities and stage presence rather than just suggestive outfits and poses (and they ARE suggestive--they're showing a lot of skin and if my memory serves me correctly they're shown in a bed at least a few times), so it's startling to see it on the H!O picboards... Still, it is a little over the top. It is UFA not H!P, and UFA can do whatever the hell it wants. And you'd expect that fans of Japanese idols would realize that it's a different culture over there, and that the U15 fetish is a very important aspect to pop culture.
@ SCxL - Western countries are thought of as highly sexual societies by the Japanese. Even though Japanese society is always depicted by foreign media as a country deeply corrupted by the porn industry, what with the popularity of hentai and AV and the recent freakout over H-games, countries like America really have a morbid fascination with suggestive themes. Look at all of the celebrities in Hollywood nowadays. Very few of Hollywood actors/actresses under the age of, say, 40 would be unlikely to make it onto some '100 hottest...' list during the duration of their career. And with magazines like Cosmo and the sexual undertones even in CHILDREN'S FILMS, we're probably bigger deviants than they are. xD The age has just shifted down a bit, and that's why our alarms go off.

^child movie containing sexual references: Ice Age 2 aka a kids movie. lolol ==== What i think people don't understand is porn and stuff like this is an art too. It expresses and drags out different emotions (i was cracking up when i thought about this xD although im in no position to say since im not a regular follower of the AV industry...). It seems like everybody has got something to b***h about., esp. with america and their politicians who think they're "helping." And at that, would the situation change if it was a teenage boy posing xD ?!?! Think about THAT. Robert the vampire in his blood red undies: "OH CRAP I WANT MOREZ." Please America, you call japan perverted - [] -; lolol. There are tons of things that could be worse. Besides, we have skin for a reason, check out those old before 1980's robin, he had no pants on, just like some speedo crap. WOOOH WORK IT. lololol. my point is now lost :9
Im a follower of Yui ; v ; love her voice!

I agree with Loli on this subject~
It's just that these girls are 14 and they're posing in ways that make the boys want more. I know the anime they're promoting/singing for is about step-sisters trying to seduce there step brother but still :/ I don't know.
It's just kinda unsettling seeing girls younger then me, wearing something that is rather revealing and puts little to the imagination. That's why I won't buy photobooks even if the shots are extremely beautiful and well done~ it's unsettling seeing someone my age or a little younger/older posing provocatively in the sand or dirt.
- I do think they have really cute voices and the PV for Steady Boy was actually kinda amusing but the pictures are a little over the top.

@ Sora -- I love you.
@ SCxL -- The age of consent in Japan is 13, so as long as they're okay with it, it's perfectly legal. xD Not that I'm saying everyone's okay with it. The anime series in question is very controversial. But when it comes to otakus, it's a really common and popular theme. It's like the American porn industry and the 'newly-18' theme. It's legal, but it's close enough to being illegal that it's exciting.
