I was wondering if anyone has heard of or listens to Anathema? They've been around for at least a decade (maybe 15 or 16 years). I'm pretty fond of their later work, but not so much of their early stuff.

After a lot of lurking in peoples last.fm music logs and threads, I decided to check them out. Yeah I've only heard of Pressure though. Nice piano work going there. They remind me of a beach.

Their old material (doom metal) is alright, as long as you're not listening to the demos.

When I listen to their albums, I found that I like their music as time goes on with A Natural Diaster being one of my favorite albums out of all of theirs.
Yeah, I was referring to the Serenades album and Crestfallen EP. Just some really slow growling going on or something and couldn't get into it. I didn't like Pentecost III either, but I have a feeling that just has songs that appear on other albums (I think). Their discography is always confusing to me

Huge Anathema urge. A Natural Disaster was so good, it seems impossible after listening to Serenades again.
I think this will be my next collecting project after I finish Nine Inch Nails

A Simple Mistake has me convinced that Anathema is in a creative rut. This along with Everything sounds like they were both scrapped from being released on A Natural Disaster.
