The floating City of Harlan

Traveling the world in order to spread a new age of Atheism, Corinthinius fitted the underside of his base with machinery to make it capable of flight. In it's initial liftoff the city turned island left it's mountain home to become a world traveling vessel. It flies at an altitude of 3300 ft above sea level and at a speed of 75 m/h on average.

What may look like a castle town on a floating landmass is a well fortified and armed fortress of the sky. Approaching the island isn't recomended. Plasma Turrets, Missile Racks, and Rail Cannons dot the underside of the island. Near the center of the fortress, is a tower capable of firing imense quanities of condensed mana. And even getting past that, it's unlikely that the locals will be very friendly.

While he was more than powerful enough to do most of his tasks alone Seig knew more manpower equals faster completion of work. So he went to work creating and recruiting soldiers for his army. This is a list of his system. His perfect organization known as the Deicide Organization.

Current Setting:

(1/6/06)
The sea just north of some tropical islands. It's dawn and a weak 9 mph gust is comming from the east. It's a short flight to the south east where Seig's island hangs over the horrizon.

(2/2/06)
Corinthinius's island out in the middle of the ocean. the wind has increased to 17 mph comming from the north east. Some clouds are being carried on the wind toward the island.

(2/7/06)
Corinthinius' island is now just north of a small unsettled Atol. It rapidly moves toward them to evade persuit of an interstellar battle cruiser.

(2/23/06)
After a long and fierce battle Seig's Island has fallen, He and the remainder of his forces proceeded to a succesful invasion of the Revenge and have now taken it for their own. With Bale defeated Seig plans to use the resources of the Revenge to salvage his Fortress and get his empire running again.
((This is going up as a temporary RP.))

*Phaeton flies over the ocean at mach 2 headded toward an ominous floating island. The island as it comes closer and closer into view looks more and more threatening. As it becomes clearly visible over the horrizon Phaeton slows down to avoid detection.*
This time... This time it ends.

Enclosed inside hs dragon wings, Follin sits high atop one of the towers. He looks down onto the city, watching the sodliers below go along with their patrol of the city.

The peace that goes from this city is good. Being away from the insipid morons is...refreshing. You'd be surprised how stupid they can be...CoCo

From behind, a black cat comes to the top of his left shoulder to reply to her master.

Weren't they once what you called friends Follin?

*chuckles*
Aye, they were...They were..stupid enough to believe that what Seige is doing is...against what man so desperately needs. Even now they may still want to try attempts to kill him...morons..

*Seig rises to the top of a tower just behind Follin he looks out onto his city with him for a moment.*

Follin what do you think motivates man to worship a higher being?

*He throws his cape across his chest to provide a slight cover from the winds then folds his arms.*

Now before you answer that, why is it do you think that so much anarchy has sprang from my mission?

Well, because the 'Gods' choose not to relinquish their hold on man. They couldn't get enough of the attention and wanted more, making man force others to believe in them and become more than the other 'Gods'. You come back, their only means to their end and fight to keep the attention they have wrongfully gained. Man on this, might just see you as an Evil being, a villian, a dictator..whatever else they may see it. So they choose to die for what they believe in is right above from your mission to liberate them from their...hazed view of life.

Now..what motivates man to worship a higher being?
That can have many and few answers to it. Each individual has different views on why they must worship that being, or live in servitude to it. Because it is what they were brought up as their way of life..or because it is their race..as one religion says you are that till the day you die.
But I don't know all of what motivates man to worship, or live in servitude..I for one could not let myself believe that a higher being controls my fate by what i do while i live my mortal life. That is what sickens me..But i chose to go down the path of the buddhist...not a very good one I am might i add. But I did because on the other side there is no one to woship for all of eternity, no one to punsih me for my 'sins', but just a place to strive to reach, a place of eternal peace.

Very interesting. Insightful as allways Follin.

Now as I understand it, worship and in a deity and Religion itself has provided 5 specific things for humanity.
Number one, It reduces anxiety by providing an explanation for the unknown. However I've been working on that for a long time. Even in my vast experience I've come to understand that it is impossible for one to understand everything. Contrary to belief, the brain does not have limitless capacity. People haven't tapped into 100% of their brain's ability but perhaps in time...

Number Two, It's provided comfort by assuring supernatural aid in times of crisis. Your kamikaze, holy purification of land, the run of the mill divine intervention. ...But I've done away with that. There hasn't been a single being to stop me as of late.

Number Three, It's set a standard for acceptable behavior, notions of right, wrong, good, and evil. But they don't understand that there are so many grey areas and what is right in one's eyes may not be in another's eyes. THIS is the system that has to go!

Number Four, It removes the burden of decision making from the individuals to supernatural powers. Foolishness! Humans want to believe they are so high and mighty but their envy for elves and their animal instincts in spite of it are mere hypocracy. Then they want to shove the big responsibilities that only they could handle for themselves on something that no longer exists.

Number Five, It's a means of maintining social solidarity. So many nations are governed by the core religion that brought them together. They war with any conflicting government on mere differences of religion at many a time. Without deities in place and knowing what I've done, many nations have begun a fiscal holy war over beings that do not exist.

I'm sure you didn't need that meaningless little lecture ;but for the sake of rewriting purposes One, Three, Four, and Five I strive for this future I envisioned.

My rather daunting fortress is merely a means of protecting me from the crossfire while I make my attempts to guide the remainder of the populace in the direction of self-reliance. I suppose I can't let some of the technology that has formed within this fortress to fall into the hands of those who don't understand it. the results could be devastating. The people need to accept full responsibility for their own existance and stop brushing off minor difficulties on "higher beings". The "higher beings" they refer to appeared to be just as pety and simple as their worshipers.

I didn't mean to get carried away in so much bauble I guess I was simply trying to make conversation. I can never get away from business with the others.

*He shifts his head a little and looks out over the sea.*

My one greatest adversary thus far is the one out there over the sea. In time Man will come to accept it's full responsibility as a relatively sentient lifeform, but that which currently stalks me is comming for a personal vendetta. Nothing to do with my ideals, my journey, or my current empire. This one simply wants retribution.

Then this being will have to go threw all who are loyal to reach you. As I see it needed be, I will try and stop this one on it's path of vendetta. Your work is beneficial to Man's fate and future, a measly vedetta can not get in the way of that.

*Raises his right hand in the air and his pitchfork meterializes as he holds it, watching the ocean for the vendetta stricken foer*

I'm afraid I can not allow you to go near that Island Phaeton. I'm not going to let you stop Corinthinius' work before it is done.

And I told him I would not let you get near the Island, this personal vendetta threatens his work and that means you have to be stopped.

*Pulls Phaeton back by the leg and punches her in the face*
