Hello once again, peoples!
I have made a re-emergence into the world of Gaia, after about a year or two of taking a break from dealing with the inefficiency of the the Moderators of said site. I'd like to get this guild moving once again, if only with the few members that we once had posting. Hopefully most of you return to have some good old fun like we had back in the hey-day of Gaia.
Anywhoo, I hope to see you all around here soon!

That's all well and good. I don't expect everyone to drop everything else and dive headlong into this thing, I just think we can do something to have a little fun and bring back some old memories. The good kind, mind you.

Well, mainly just them being irritating. There's a bit of powerplay here and there, but some of them don't even understand the concept of character class.
For example: Why is a Mage attacking a Berserker with Daggers?

Funny thing that. After a brief exchange and hinting in words to ask "WHY AREN'T YOU ******** USING MAGIC?!" After all, a ray of enfeeblement will get a mage farther than poking at an opponent who's monkey gripping two two-handers sized for a large creature. (My character is a hill giant mind you.) I plucked that mage out of an air attack and planted them face first in the ground. They break the grab and flee like nothing happened, despite being forced into the dirt so fiercely.
Also uh, with another character of mine, I find it difficult to understand why a human of regular strength would try to trip a ******** near 4 ton golem with a staff. (This is after trying to kill it with heat when said golem walked in and out of volcanic caverns.) I just don't want people to b***h about me powerplaying, when their combat senses are so feeble.
Lets pile that on with threatening an enraged Ogre Barbarian (Not mine, just noting), just because you happen to be in a position of power in an opposing nation.
Also there was the whole fiasco on whether to allow the existence of firearms. Then the question on whether or not people should be able to resist illusion magic. (Mesmers are a feeble class. I'm sorry.)

See, the problem is most of these kids want to look cool and have big flashy attacks where they end up being the epic hero and saving the day, and none of them are willing to take the hit and make the story coherent or congruent to each character's powers. The main part of that problem is that they don't even bother to read the other persons post, except for maybe the last line or so, or they skim it, because they already have their entire battle story planned out in their head and they will write it out no matter what the other players may write to counter their actions.

Kinda sounds like the entire premise of Naruto.
Though at least they tried to explain things away. Good way to put someone to sleep though. I just don't want to have to explain uncanny dodge or 4 tons of rock to someone when they complain is all. Or for what's-his-face to have to explain tremor sense, especially when every other earth elementalist seemed to have it inately while he uses a totem to gain it.
