This idea came to me when I was playing around with the masquerade.
Imagine an alternate Aekea where Gaia's economy has crashed and burned. Investments are blown out of the water, gold is hard to come by and no one is hiring at all. Businesses failed a long time ago and everything is a mess.
So in this depression, what are your avatars wearing on their backs? How are they living? Do they still have a job? Are they part of a gang? Do they still have their possessions or did the IRS guys repo'd them?

That'd be rough! I'd probably be one of the early folks fired from the guard, but I suppose he'd come together with a scrappy life of salvaging parts. His wardrobe'd definately have to be downgraded, with all metal parts being replaced with older models. D: He wouldn't be involved with gangs, but that isn't to say he wouldn't hit a few men for a quick buck - apartments in Aekea, even with little furniture don't come cheap. And shaving is for people who can afford it. emo

 Black would probably go the psychopathic raider/killer route. I mean, she still has to do some sacrificial offerings and stuff. . . And off anyone who tried to take her stuff.

sounds more like you're asking of something more along the lines of a fallout setting but not so much retro as more of dystopian.

I am, sorry I haven't posted in the CSI thing btw, I've been hit with an idea draught and I'm just starting to get it back. I've been hanging out with some really snide bad roleplayers in towns and rally the past few days and I think their cluster ******** motley crew might have snapped a nerve in my brain, but that's beside the point. Hopefully before I have a hemorrhage I'll be able to bleed my ideas out...

I've been lurking. Waiting for the "As The Gears Turn" to start back up as v2.
Lets see here, what would happen to Roki's attire.
Since he could no longer cut and style his hair do to lack of product and money. It'll grow excessively long. As well with the fall of the proper eye care, and gold to afford such expenses. He may go blind, and resort to not taking care of himself.. maybe like.. this?
