My name, at the moment, is Dante the Viking, but I also go by gamingrat, Harlequin, Domo, and just Nathan in a few places. I am an aspiring author, 18 years old, currently taking up residence in Krasnodar, Russia. I have, at last count, 229 books in my room, 225 of which I have read.
I started writing when I was thirteen, and it was all very atrocious fanfiction and a story about dragons I am proud to say I have repressed all memories regarding. Since that moment five years ago, when I began writing, I have very seldom stopped. I don't write a lot of fanfiction any more, as I have sworn it off and done my utmost to stick to said vow. I spend a lot of time roleplaying on a forum I administrate, and this allows me to try out new characters and plot ideas while developing existing concepts in a fluid, always-accessible environment.
At the moment, I maintain correspondence with one published author, a friend of the family, and am making attempts to contact a few more over email. I consider feedback, and not just from published authors, the most vital part of my writing (besides the actual writing itself).
There is a large portion of my writing time spent
not writing, however, as this allows me to let ideas 'simmer', so to speak, and not keep working when I am so mentally exhausted that what I write isn't up to my standards. When not writing, I play video games, read (to check out the 'competition', or surf the internet. I also help out a lot at our church, and maintain a blog where I update friends and family in the 'States about how my family and I are doing in Russia. I also spend a lot of time on Gaia, for some reason. My main reason for joining this guild is, obviously, to recieve feedback on my writing, but I also would like to see what other people have written. I'm always on the lookout for something new to read, you see.
If you would like to know anything else about me (what inspired me to write, why did my family move to Russia, and т.д.) you are welcome to ask me. I will, most likely, answer you.
