Rochelle was a simple wish, with simple wishes. She wished for someone to love her, for a family with lots of children and a place to call home for everyone that she held dear. So far, her wishes seemed a long way off. And yet, Rochelle didn't fret about it. She was happy just knowing that the sun was shining today and that the birds were singing.
She sat daydreaming by a small stream, listening to the sound of it bubbling over the rocks with the birds chiming in with their own little tune. Everything in the world seemed to be singing to her right now, fueling her little daydream about a princess and a prince falling in love. Her petal pink eyes looked up towards the canopy with a sparkle of joy in them. "What a lovely dream," she mumbled to herself with a sigh.

Morty, however, was a wish of big dreams, always looking for the exciting things in life. He thought love only gets in the way of fun. He would always go out to explore, though he got lost often.
Morty heard the birds sing in the distance, so he followed the melody. He eventually came across a beautiful stream, where he found a female daydreaming wish. Morty, wondering what the beautiful wish was doing, spied on her behind a rock, hoping he wouldn't be seen...

A small blue bird flitted down from the tree tops and landed near Rochelle. The carefree wish giggled with delight as it hopped onto her fluffy white tail and proceeded to try and take some of her fur for nesting material. "Silly little bird," she cooed in her soft voice, speaking very quietly since she didn't want to scare it away. She was content to sit and watch it as it tugged out little tufts of her loose fur, not pulling so hard that it hurt her. The smile that played across her face was dazzling, the sparkle in her eyes as bright as the sparkle of the sun when it touches the dew on a lovely pink rose.

Morty saw the bird taking fur out of the beautiful wish's tail. The bird was the enemy! Why else would it be so rudely taking away what was not his? Yet, the beautiful wish seemed so happy. Maybe she's a masochist, he thought. Anyway, she needed help, so he decided to step closer...
Must get her attention, he thought. Morty took a few more steps. He was now behind the wish he had been trying to hide from, glaring at the innocent bird.

The bird was startled when it saw Morty creeping up behind Rochelle and quickly flitted way into the tree and began to screech at him the way birds do when they feel that their nests are threatened. Rochelle laughed out loud as she watched it, having still not noticed Morty she wasn't sure what caused the bird to be so upset. "You silly little blue bird," she said as she laughed at it, "You even forgot the nesting material you worked for!."
Rochelle flicked her tail and let the tuft of white fur fall to the ground before standing up. She turned around, and ran right into Morty still looking up at the bird and not paying attention to where she was walking. "Oh!" she exclaimed in surprise as she fell back on her bottom. "I'm so sorry!" she added, her cheeks quickly flushing to a deep pink.

Morty heard how sweetly she had been talking to the bird. He stared at the beautiful wish, confused. "You mean, the bird wasn't attacking you?" He sat down, relieved that he wouldn't have to save anyone today. He was always 'saving' wishes from trouble. Not being the hero for once was nice.
Morty let out a sigh and said, "Well, now that I'm here, I might as well ask your name. I am Morty. And you are?" He didn't understand why he was asking this. Why should he care? Anyway, he waited patiently for the response of the beautiful wish.

At the sound of Morty's voice Rochelle's heart almost skipped a beat. She had been so embarrassed because she had run into someone that she hadn't even looked at them, and now that she did she felt almost a little dizzy. He was a handsome wish with soft cornflower blue eyes that seemed they would make her melt right then and there.
Rochelle was so absorbed with her thoughts of his eyes that she hadn't heard what Morty had said at first. It took her a little while to process what he had said and for several seconds she was just sitting there where she had fallen with her mouth slightly gaping. I must look like such a fool, she thought to herself. "My name is Rochelle," she managed to say meekly, her voice got caught in her throat and she couldn't say anymore. She felt she would die of embarrassment.

Such a silly, yet sweet wish, Morty thought. There was something about how uncomfortable she seemed that here really adored. "Rochelle, what a lovely name!" , Morty said quickly so he wouldn't seem too thoughtful.
He was thinking a million things at once! He couldn't understand most of these thoughts. He couldn't seem like a fool! Not in front of Rochelle! He needed to say something nice, quickly, "My, what beautiful eyes you have!".

If Rochelle was blushing before it was nothing compared to the red that seemed to engulf her cheeks now. She turned away shyly, bringing a paw to her mouth to try and cover the huge embarrassed grin on her face. She felt like a little girl and her heart raced out of control.
Rochelle didn't know what to say or do, and when she thought she could finally speak she started blushing deeper again and was left wordless. She had never had someone compliment her like that and it made her happy, but very self conscious as well. If she could only dig up something to say back, to get her lips and tongue to cooperate with her so that she could utter a simple thank you.

Morty was starting to become really worried. Rochelle looked like she was about to faint! "Umm... are you okay?" His worry was starting to overpower him. He was shaking with fear! But he must do something to help her!
"Maybe you just have a fever." Morty touched Rochelle's forehead with his paw. Rochelle was very warm. Morty blushed.

Rochelle giggled lightly when she saw Morty blush. It made her feel a little more comfortable knowing that he felt a little uncomfortable himself. "I'm fine, sorry" she managed to squeek out. She bit her lower lip softly and managed to raise her eyes to look at him again. "I'm just a little...embarrassed," she continued in a very meek and soft voice, her cheeks still beet red.
She managed somehow to keep her gaze on him, though it was obvious how silly she felt. Her paws fidgeted with the grass, tearing up little chunks of root and dirt as her claws dug in. Her tail twitched in the grass behind her, the end jumping from side to side.

"Haha it's okay as long as you are fine", Morty said, still blushing. He looked away for a second, and saw that two birds were watching them. They must be dying of laughter! Well, Morty thought, it was time to make them die of it!
"Rochelle, you are so beautiful and kind, and I...." Morty choked. He looked at her helplessly and lovingly, unable to say a thing.

Rochelle's mouth gaped open and her eyes went wide. Her face reversed from red to a bit on the pale side. "Morty..." she mumbled, not getting any more of her sentence out for a few more seconds.
She was stunned. To blurt out such compliments right after they first met made her both scared and excited. She didn't know whether to be glad for it or to even hide. After a few seconds her head cleared and she began to speak again.
"Morty that's very sweet, but we just met dear. Shouldn't we get to know each other before you say I'm kind?" She reached out her paw slowly and placed it on his, smiling at him meekly, a soft look in her eyes. She really did want to get to know him, but she didn't want to rush into things just because he was cute.

Morty was surprised! He usually could woo the ladies when he wasn't trying. And now when he tried, he failed. Well, he was know for being incredibly impulsive. He regained his ability to speak and said, "Rochelle, I am sorry to have rushed like that. I just felt a rush of... emotion."
He loved holding her paw. It made him feel that perhaps not all hope was lost. Morty smiled and said, "I would love to know you better, but I can already tell you are kind..." Morty lowered his voice, "and I would love to be your friend!" And much more, Morty thought.

Rochelle giggled and stood up. "You're sweet Morty. I would like being your friend very much." She cocked her head to the side cutely and swished her tail behind her.
"Would you like to go for a walk?" she asked, gesturing up the steam towards a grassy field. "We could talk and get to know each other better."
