I'm fairly new here, and I thought I might make a little thread by way of introduction. What source material do people use to base their characters off of? I have demon who is in human form, with her demonic form based off a Frost from DMC 4. What kind of sources do others use, or have you designed things from scratch?

Scratch is the funnest way for me to create a character. It allows me to think up flaws in their personality from the very beginning. Thinking up characters is very easy for me. My brain runs 1000 miles a minute with ideas.
So when you say scratch, do you also make up their powers and abilities? Personality wise, each one of characters has been a manifestation of one or more of my personality traits. Arcturus is a combination of bits of my insanity with a sprinkle of my atheism and a touch of my anger. I have found that flawed character traits make better characters then good traits.
