.GAME DESCRIPTION.
The game begins during the climax of Final Fantasy VII. As Vincent, the protagonist, and Yuffie help to evacuate Midgar, Vincent finds Hojo, the scientist responsible for the antagonist of Final Fantasy VII, slumped at the controls of a Mako Cannon. As Vincent is about to finish him off, the cannon explodes, destroying Hojo and forcing Vincent to escape.

Three years later, Vincent is in the city of Kalm, where a celebration is taking place to commemorate the events of Final Fantasy VII. Suddenly, the city is attacked by mysterious soldiers, who capture some of the citizens and kill the rest. Vincent, with the help of Reeve Tuesti and the World Regenesis Organization (WRO), an organization dedicated to helping Gaia recover from the events of Final Fantasy VII, fights the soldiers and forces them to retreat.

Reeve reveals that the soldiers were members of Deepground, a military organization made up of super-soldiers. Reeve believes that Vincent is the best chance the WRO has of defeating Deepground, as he currently houses Chaos. Reeve sends Vincent to retrieve research on Chaos completed by Vincent's 'deceased' love, Lucrecia.

[!] MAJOR SPOILER WARNING [!]
From this point on everything you read will contain spoilers for the entire Dirge of Cerberus storyline!

If you joined this guild and expected to be sheltered from the details of every game in the FFVII Compilation, then you're going to be sorely disappointed. We have no secrets here. As a matter of fact, we go out of our way to dig up every last snippet of information we can get about any plot we wish to assimilate into our RP. So turn around now and declare your inability to RP with us if you must! But don't say we didn't warn you beforehand.

Based on the research, the group determines what Deepground has planned. There is a weapon called OMEGA weapon, which will activate when Gaia senses that it is in mortal danger; the weapon causes Gaia to gather the Lifestream and move to another planet, leaving the planet and everyone on it to die. Deepground plans to slaughter a large number of people at once to trick Gaia into activating OMEGA early.

Vincent and the WRO launch a full-scale assault on Deepground's headquarters. During the assault, Vincent finds Weiss, leader of Deepground, slumped in his throne, lifeless. Momentarily, the Lifestream around the room surges, and Weiss emerges from his throne. It is revealed that Weiss is possessed by Hojo; before Hojo was killed in the Mako Cannon, he uploaded his consciousness into the worldwide network, then took possession of Weiss' body while he was online. Hojo and Vincent battle to a standstill; shortly after, Weiss' brother emerges from the Lifestream and pulls Hojo into the Lifestream.

The death of Hojo triggers the activation of OMEGA. While the WRO continues to fight the remnants of Deepground, Vincent challenges OMEGA. After a long battle with OMEGA, it sprouts wings and tries to escape into space. Vincent gathers his strength and charges OMEGA. On contact OMEGA is destroyed; Vincent is nowhere to be found.

Yuffie is seen to be calling Vincent and later asks Tifa about Cloud in hopes of finding Vincent's whereabouts.

As life begins to return to normal, Vincent is found at Lucrecia's crystalline coffin, thanking her for being his reason to keep fighting.

.EPISODE SCRIPTS.
For convenience purposes the scripts will not be posted here. Instead links has been provided to the site hosting the English translations.

For anyone playing one of the characters only in Dirge of Cerberus, such as a Tsviet, it is suggested you read these scripts and/or the information posted below in order to understand current and future plot twists, and to remain in character.

DoC Scripts

.EPISODE LINKS.
I found a user on Youtube, who has uploaded links to the cutscenes at least, which, I think are at least a jumping-off point. I'll try to find someone with in-game play, but, until I do, hopefully this will be of some help. Round of applause please, for Keith3d

.ONLINE MODE SCRIPTS.
The link below is to the scripts from the Online Multiplayer Mode of Dirge of Cerberus. Since it only exists on the Japanese version of the game, there is no English version of these scenes available. The script was graciously translated from its original Japanese by Souya so that English-speaking fans can experience the events of Dirge of Cerberus’s multiplayer mode. Just thought I should toss that in here.

.DEEPGROUND BACKSTORY.
This just links to a really good page that has a very thorough history of Deepground, so I strongly recommend checking it out here: The Darkness of Shinra

.CHARACTERS.
The characters will be separated into sections, displayed with all personal information.

NEW CHARACTERS: WRO

+ Shalua Rui +

User Image

A female scientist, who first appeared in a small role in Before Crisis. She is a WRO scientist with a prosthetic left arm, that serves as her life-support system, and a missing left eye. Shalua is a workaholic who is actually searching for her sister, Shelke. Upon meeting her, she was heart-broken over how little of her sister there was left and blamed herself for it. In order to make up, she helped Shelke escape the clutches of Azul, who had turned on her, in exchange for her life. Research shows that Shalua was a workaholic and often spent many of her hours at the WRO Headquarters; given the time she used to search for her "reason to live" which was assumed to be Shelke.

NEW CHARACTERS: DEEPGROUND, TSVIETS

+ Usher +

User Image

A guide to the Player Tsviet during the online mode of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-. The mysterious SOLDIER/Tsviet with the Deepground symbol upon his belt feeds information about Deepground, the Tsviets, the Restrictors, and previous activities performed in Deepground — and yet poses a question as to who the Restrictor was under the mask, believing him to be another Tsviet. Aside, Usher knows a great deal about the Tsviets that have colors assigned to them, including the experiments that led to the birth of Nero the Sable — claiming the project to be similar to that of the Jenova Project. Unknown to the player, he was a virtual image created by Shelke the Transparent's SND — designed to influence the player to face the Restrictor, in order for Weiss the Immaculate to break free from the brain chip which restricts any possible attack on the Restrictor, and kill him. The image of Usher fades away as Shelke disconnects the SND connected from the player, and the player dies after lying on the floor of Mako Reactor 0 from a fatal attack by the leading Restrictor.

NOTE!
The Tsviets are organized into the overall reaching category, Tsviets, which are superior soldiers in Deepground, and then the colored Tsviets. Colored Tsviets, such as Rosso the Crimson, are considered the best of the best, and are known throughout DG as a force to really just try not to piss off…Unless, you are a Restrictor…but that’s a whole different breed of chocobo

The Restrictors are members of the 14th SOLDIER force, "Lost Force", and the former leaders of the Deepground before Weiss took over. The Restrictors destroyed "Ragnarok", the 13th and previously strongest force of SOLDIER, in a single night. Their weapons are two short gunblades. The Restrictors' leader governed over Deepground, implanting chips into the brain stems of all DGS recruits so they cannot turn against the group. The player character in the multiplayer mode is the exception to this, who was part of Weiss' plan to take control of the Deepground. At the end of the multiplayer mode, the entire Tsviet group managed to defeat Restrictor and take his place as the ruling force of the DGS. Though they succeeded, Restrictor's leader attempted to kill Weiss with the virus implanted within him.

+ Azul the Cerulean +
User Image

The blue-haired, 33 year-old final recruit of the Tsviets. He first appeared in Before Crisis as an ordinary man who wanted to be a SOLDIER. As the largest of the Tsviets, Azul uses a large cannon with disturbing ease. He is one of three Tsviets subjected to the Metamorphose experiment, allowing him to transform into the monstrous Arch Azul (真・アスール, Shin Asūru?, True Azul). He fights against Vincent three times during the game and is finally killed when Vincent, in Chaos form, impales him with his own cannon, and blasts him. He falls down into the abyss by the elevator. His greatest love is battle. Azul means "blue" in both Portuguese and Spanish.

Prior to joining Deepground, Azul was a normal man who wanted to be a member of SOLDIER. His reputation for strength attracted the attention of Shinra, who sent the Turks to Costa Del Sol during Before Crisis -Final Fantasy VII- to capture him and force him to join Deepground. Azul broke free of his captors, but upon learning of the reason for his capture returned to them and went to Midgar willingly to join Deepground. Azul was the first to be subjected to the Metamorphose experiment, assuming the form of the Behemoth-like Arch Azul and killing his fellow guinea pigs. The display of power earned Azul his moniker and the rank of Tsviet.

During the events in the Online multiplayer mode in Dirge of Cerberus, Azul attempts to attack the Restrictor, but is stopped by the implanted chip inside his brain stem which was used to control him along with the rest of the colored Tsviets. Later on, he and Rosso are summoned by the Restrictor to spar with Weiss. He and Rosso are defeated easily. Soon after, he transforms into Arch Azul and takes on Weiss along with Bloodburst Rosso. This time he puts up more of a fight, but loses once more. After Weiss kills the Restrictor, the implanted chip's effects wear off and he along with the Tsviets laugh at the demise of the Restrictor.

+ Rosso the Crimson +
User Image

A red-clothed, psychotic 25 year-old woman and third recruit of the Tsviets. She fights with a double-bladed weapon capable of bursts of gunfire. Rosso moves with elegance and speed and does not care if she kills friend or foe to win. Even though there are several meetings with her over the course of the game, Vincent only fights her once, but she fights Cloud Strife in a cut scene. Overconfident and egomaniacal, she commits suicide after being beaten by Vincent: she collapses a part of the building with her on top of it so that she "shall not grant him the pleasure of killing Rosso the Crimson".

She was the first of the Deepground experiments to be spliced with the genes of Genesis Rhapsodos. The success of her birth prompted further research and experimentation on Deepground troops. The rigorous training regiment of Deepground eventually shattered Rosso's psyche, leading to an obsession of bloodying her victims, hence her title "the Crimson".

During the events in the online Multiplayer mode of Dirge of Cerberus, Rosso explains that she wanted to see the outside world's sky since she had only ever seen projections. She decided to kill countless Deepground soldiers in order to get her point across. Soon after, one of the Restrictors appears before her and challenges her. Though she puts up a good fight, she is defeated by the Restrictor. Later on, she is summoned by the Restrictor along with Azul in order to spar with Weiss. She was defeated easily, but transforms into Bloodburst Rosso. Though she puts up a better fight the second time, she and Arch Azul are again defeated by Weiss. Soon after, with the Restrictor near death, the chips implanted in the Tsviets brain stems begins to wear off. Rosso and the other Tsviets laugh as the Restrictor breathes his last breath.

+ Shelke the Transparent +
User Image

A blue-eyed, 19 year-old girl trapped by mako in her 10 year old body and fourth recruit of the Tsviets. She fights with two electromagnetic sabers, and has a special ability named SND ("Synaptic Net Dive"), which allows her to project a residual image of herself within a computer network. She is initially emotionless, but becomes connected to Lucrecia's personality as the game progresses. Shelke's job within the Tsviets was to locate Vincent Valentine. However, Shelke's body does not allow her to fight for very long and without the Mako stations in Deepground to support her, Shelke tires quickly. She is also the only member of the Tsviets who does not possess cells from Genesis. She later abandons the Tsviets in favor of aiding Vincent. Shelke means "orange" in Urdu.

Born Shelke Rui, she was abducted at age nine and taken to Deepground where she was subjected to numerous experiments. The procedures left her stunted, permanently appearing as a young girl. She requires daily treatments of mako to sustain herself.

Her main skill within the Tsviets is retrieving information from the Worldwide Network by means of a Synaptic Net Dive, or SND. However, her skills are not limited to computers. She carries a pair of electromagnetic sabers, which resemble orange lightsabers.

She fights two battles with Vincent Valentine and afterwards is sedated. When Azul the Cerulean escapes his holding cell within the WRO headquarters, Shelke is targeted for termination, as she no longer served a purpose to the Tsviets. She survived thanks to her sister, Shalua Rui, who held the monstrous Azul at bay long enough for Shelke, Vincent and Reeve Tuesti to escape. The sacrifice left Shalua in a coma.

Shelke had previously absorbed some of Lucrecia Crescent's work and data into her mind to study it. However, this has an unforeseen effect, as it allows Shelke to experience Lucrecia's memories and to feel what she would have felt. These feelings compel her to help Vincent, although she never admits to this. They also allow Shelke to begin to regain her own emotions. Shelke's emotional attachment to Vincent is due to the result of absorbing part of Lucrecia's consciousness.
Shelke at the ending of Dirge of Cerberus -Final Fantasy VII-.

On board the Shera, Shelke performs another SND. She uses the information she gathers from the network to aid in Vincent's infiltration of Midgar. While Vincent enters Midgar, Shelke starts to look around the Shera. Inside the engine room, she finds her former comrade Nero the Sable and is captured by his dark powers. She survives by using a shield materia and is rescued by Vincent before her power runs out.

After the events of the game, Shelke lives with the others at 7th Heaven, although it is not revealed what she does. When the party wants to get Vincent out of the Crystal Cave, they send Shelke to get him. Seeing Lucrecia in Shelke, Vincent smiles as both of them look at the sky.

+ Argento the Silver +
User Image

A member of the Tsviets seen only in the Japanese multiplayer mode. She has an eye-patch over her right eye. She conspired with Weiss to overthrow the Restrictors. Argento means "silver" in Italian, and it is revealed in the Compilation Ultimania, that Argento was the one who made all the weapons of the colored Tsviets.

Her role is not so much of a fighter, but rather that of an instructor or observer, and she is said to embody the phrase, "strength hidden in weakness." Even though her name itself means "silver", she is not necessarily given a specific colored epithet, and thus, does not seem to have attained the "Triple S" status in Deepground. She wears a predominately white version of the Deepground Commander uniform with a crown-like visor and an eyepatch over her right eye, and wields what appears to be a black and silver SOLDIER broadsword decorated with various embellishments and an engraved hilt. During her conversation with Shelke, Argento expresses distaste with the Restrictors issuing lowly orders to her and Shelke - and is also involved with the plan to overthrow them. She forged Weiss the Immaculate's signature weapons and presented them to him after he was set free; he subsequently did battle with Rosso, Azul, and the Restrictor to test them, killing the latter and securing their freedom. Argento, along with the other members of the Tsviets, is present while the player dies after being dealt a fatal wound by the Restrictor, though it is unknown what her fate was following these events, as she has not appeared in any subsequent Compilation titles.

+ Nero the Sable +
User Image

A 23 year-old man and second member of the Tsviets, whose face is always obscured. He is Weiss' younger brother and can control darkness as the only fully successful experiment from stagnant mako injection into a fetus. The power that resulted from this is a primordial darkness that is capable of swallowing and destroying anyone that is forced into it. Only being born from that darkness like Chaos can permanently survive in Nero’s darkness. He secretly leads Deepground under Weiss' name after the unification of the organization, when Weiss' state becomes unclear to the remaining Deepground soldiers. Nero deeply loves his brother and acts on Weiss/Hojo's desire to awaken Omega and destroy the planet. Nero has two wing-like blades on his back that are used as slashing weapons and four handguns, two for his hands and two built into the blades to allow for an impressive balance of long and short range attacks He can transform into the spider-like Arachnero (ネロ・ラフレア, Nero Rafurea?, Nero Raw Flayer). He eventually merges with Weiss to free the latter from Hojo's control. Nero means "black" in Italian and Sable is the tincture black in heraldry.

Nero is a thin man with long, unkempt, black hair and red cat-like eyes (possibly caused as a result of using tainted Lifestream in his creation). Perhaps his most striking features are a mechanical pair of wings that spread from his back and the various restraints on his body. A mask, vaguely resembling a muzzle, obscures his mouth, while a strait-jacket covers his upper torso. Nero has the power of teleportation and fights with stylized handguns. He always has orbs of darkness that emanate and rotate around him. He speaks with a dry English accent. He is also the only Tsviet whose power Weiss does not possess.

Nero is the biological younger brother of Weiss and only successful test subject of the stagnant Mako experiments. The experiment itself was based on the Omega Reports left by Grimoire Valentine. Upon Nero's birth, a vortex absorbed his mother into another dimension. The scientists of Deepground discover Nero has power over darkness and confine him in a suit of Mako to contain his great power. But unknown to the scientists and Nero at the time, that Nero himself would be related to an event that would end the world and the beings that would cause it.

Nero, Weiss and Rosso continue their training and grow stronger over the years. Eventually, they are feared to be too strong to control and Nero's arms are bound to prevent him from using his hands to manifest his dark powers. Nero was then chained inside Mako Reactor 0.

Nero's weapons of choice are guns (from their appearance, possibly handguns based on the real life IMI Desert Eagle), two of which are carried by him and used by his mechanical hands (on his mechanical wings), and two identical ones drawn from darkness which he uses with his real hands. He also has the power of darkness, gained from the Mako associated with the dark being Chaos, which he can use to transport people, objects, etc, or, indeed, absorb them into the darkness like a black hole and destroy them. While fighting him in the game, he is shown to be able to spin around using his wings as melee weapons, and able to shoot dark orbs at Vincent, which he calls "Dark Rain." Vincent is revealed to be the only person capable of entering and leaving Nero's darkness, for the powers of Chaos are fully with Vincent, whereas Nero only has a fragment of it's power. It is said that the restraint like outfit he wears is to keep his power under control.

+ Weiss the Immaculate +
User Image

The leader of the elite Tsviets of Deepground. All of the other Tsviets owe his or her loyalty to Weiss. He fights with two gunblades, and possesses all the abilities of the other Tsviets, the only exceptions being Nero's darkness and Azul's metamorphosis. He is controlled by Hojo's digitized mind, who invaded his body when Weiss was in "Synaptic Net Dive" mode, trying to find a cure to the Restrictors' virus that infected him after he overthrew them. Weiss's first appearance in the game is during a planet wide speech in which he declairs his intention to kill as many people as he and Deepground can. He is eventually defeated by Vincent; however, in the game's ending sequence, his body is seen carried off by an awakened Genesis, who addresses Weiss as his "brother" and tells him that "it is not yet time for slumber" and that they "still have much work to do". In the online version, Weiss is shown fighting both Azul and Rosso at the same time and winning while Restrictors watch. The Restrictors permanently kept Weiss chained to his throne in Mako Reactor Zero rather than risk the chance that Weiss find a way to all in a moment of weakness. This proved to be futile since he was the mastermind behind the death of Restrictors. Weiss means "white" in German.

A mysterious SOLDIER who commands Deepground, he declared a hunt on the world three years after the Meteor crisis. He received the title of emperor, as he is the strongest Tsviet, as well as the first member. All Deepground soldiers fear his power and follow him; however, it's said that they rarely see him directly.
