I'm in Quebec, and I know EXTREMELY limited French. I want to learn, but since people are too busy to help me learn I need some help here. =/ Gold payments I'll do?
I just need to learn French. Immediatly if possible, I'm going to be here a while and can't go shopping, talk to people, etc... =/

Wait, you're in Quebec and you're not able to go shopping 0.o.. Where are you in Quebec ?
I'm a Quebecer and most of the shops are bilingual or are able to serve most people in french and english.

I'm in Sherbrooke. They do, but there's quite a bit that don't and I'm stuck trying to figure out with actions...it's a sad ordeal but I think I just want to learn. I just saw your post by the way... <.< >.>

I'm staying in Quebec for a while and it's true that a lot of stores are bilingual but there are also a lot of cashiers that don't understand too much English. That shouldn't be a big problem though because they at least know their basics and a lot of words in English ressemble those in French.

I just came back from six weeks in Montreal for a French study program. While I was able to shop in French, if I didn't know the words for things, I could ask in English and the people there would speak to me in English. Maybe it's a Montreal thing, but most if not all the people who worked in retail spoke both languages.

Oh, I'm so sorry for you, I hope she will be right soon Thank you. She's in chemo therapy right now and they said it should be curable but they are treating it aggressively and it makes her really sick. She's about to go into surgery and that makes it really hard as well.
