Well, this is the team I'm working on for an anime convention my wife and I are going to in a couple weeks ( I'm not old, I'm just 20. Just letting people know so they don't think I'm a creepy old ***** lurking around Gaia talking about Pokemon ).

Starmie
NN: None yet
Moves: Surf, Thunderbolt, Psychic, Recover
HI: Razor Fang

Current EVs: Speed - 255/255, SpAtt - 255/255

HI: Choice Band or Sash (Attack upper, can't remember which it is)
PN: Adamant
Current EVs: Health - 255/255, Attack - 255/255

Honchkrow
NN: Scarface
Moves: Brave Bird, Sucker Punch, Pursuit, Super Power
HI: Scope Lens
PN: Jolly
Current EVs: Attack - 255/255, Speed - 255/255

Kingdra
NN: Umi
Moves: Dragon Dance, Yawn, Waterfall, Outrage
HI: Leftovers
PN: Adamant
Current EVs: Speed - 255/255, Attack - 255/255

Electivire
NN: Walrus

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions other than switching out team members. The rules for the tourney are no ubers, no multiples of the same item or pokemon. I'm still pretty unsure about... Well, everything aside from the team members, so feel free to fire away. Just don't make unhelpful comments that don't offer advice, such as "This team rocks, nothing to say!" or "You're gonna get stomped, you suck." It's annoying.

well I think it is pretty diverse but since you do not want to switch out any members, perhaps changing your kingdra into a wall instead of having an entire team of spec. attk and attkers, you just need a little variation in your team, some walls some thunder waves, some burns just to mix things up, but I have a feeling that you will do pretty good, sorry I cannot be more insightful currently I am under some pretty good prescription drugs!!!

well first of all dani, you really need some different moves in there, you need to mix it up, having 4 water moves on milotic is not a good thing you at least need an ice sand tomb is not that good of a move, you need to just look at your team and see how you want to play the battle, quick or slow and start to weed out the moves that you do not need, remember blisskrieg? how many choices you had with that one? shoot for that

This is my format, on how the Pokemon Team thing works:

- Nickname, then Pokemon.
- Ability, with Info, if different.
- Stats.
- Nature.
- Attacks.

My Team:

Dracos (Garchomp)
Sand Veil
All Stats Max'd.
Jolly Nature
Attacks: Outrage, Fire Fang, Earthquake, Swords Dance

Slicer (Scizor)
Technician
All Stats Max'd
Hasty Nature
Attacks: Fury Cutter, Bullet Punch, Cut, Iron Defense

Seedleer (Breloom)
Poison Heal
All Stats Max'd
Jolly Nature
Attacks: Wood Hammer (This move was done by someone from the GTS), DynamicPunch, Facade, Seismic Toss

Sabbath (Weavile)
Technician (Hacked. Pressure is the only ability that Weavile is supposed to have. Nothing else)
All Stats Max'd
Relaxed Nature
Attacks: Faint Attack, Ice Shard, Counter, Attract

Spartan (Gallade)
Pure Power (Hacked. Steadfast is the only ability that Gallade is supposed to have. Nothing else)
All Stats Max'd
Impish Nature
Attacks: Psycho Cut, Close Combat, Night Slash, Leaf Blade

KingKrab (Crawdaunt)
Shell Armor
All Stats Max'd
Jolly Nature
Attacks: CrabHammer, Crunch, Brick Break, Substitute

My Team is all Lv. 100.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:11 pm

by all stats maxed.. do you mean hacked?
I will assume you do and not comment on them

as far as hacked abilities, you should change those back to the normal natures, It gives you a sense of accomplishment, hell I could whip out my wonderzard and lay waste to most of a team but I only use it at the battle tower
as far as moves,
breloom should hold a toxic orb if it has poison heal, and can benefit from spore/ and or focus punch just to be a good sweeper,
crawdaunt, while I agree that crabhammer is an awesome move, waterfall is the choice there, and maybe instead of substitute on a poke that would lose a substitute after one turn, put on swords dance and try to get one in before you start to battle
your gallade is pretty good, but psycho and close combat can usually hurt things that are weak to leaf blade as much or more so you take that spot and you put in a swords dance, or ice punch to be able to hurt different types
weavile, at first I did not see anything wrong then I thought why would you have a counter on a poke with base 70 hp, odds are you would be dead before you got a chance to counter
a safer set to run would be taunt instead of counter, that way you do not get a lot of status and if they are attracted at the same time, you could more then likely just sweep through them
scizor, you could remove cut for roost or swords dance, one making it a physical wall, the other making it a super sweeper, and while fury cutter no doubt has saved the day a few times I am sure that it has failed you a few times as well, I recommend either bug bite or u-turn
your garchomp, I see nothing wrong with, good job
sorry if I was mean, but that is what I would recommend, as far as that team goes, I am assuming that crawdaunt has a place in your heart as it is not that good of a poke, I would recommend Empoleon, vaporeon, swampert, or gyrados as your water type

That team was never hacked by me, actually.
All from GTS, of my Pearl.

But yes, forgot to put in the Held Items in my Team.

i never accused you of hacking them, I would just rather see you using unhacked pokes on your teams, makes the whole game more fair and balanced

Alright. I'm currently playing PKMN HG. I am seeking a more balanced team with moves optimized for power. I seldom use non attacking moves unless they are for the purpose of inflicting a status ailment as a means of capture. Here's my team.

Pkmn: Absol
Type: dark
Held item: quick claw
Ability: super luck
Moves: night slash, me first (obliterates dragon types), sucker punch, shadow ball

Pkmn: Swampert
Type: water + ground
Held item: sea incense
Ability: torrent
Moves: surf, earthquake, hydro cannon, dig

Pkmn: Ampharos
Type: electric
Held item: magnet
Ability: static
Moves: discharge, thunderbolt, thunder wave, signal beam (obliterates dark types)

Pkmn: Typhlosion
Type: fire
Held item: charcoal
Ability: blaze
Moves: flamethrower, eruption, blast burn, rock climb

Pkmn: Dragonite
Type: dragon + flying
Held item: haban berry
Ability: inner focus
Moves: dragon claw, dragon pulse, fly, draco meteor

Pkmn: Primeape
Type: fighting
Held item: macho brace
Ability: anger point
Moves: cross chop, poision jab, rock slide, strength

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 30, 2010 2:42 pm

first of all as a rule of thumb you should not have more then one of the same type of move per poke, lets look at your typhlosion
Pkmn: Typhlosion
Type: fire
Held item: charcoal
Ability: blaze
Moves: flamethrower, eruption, blast burn, rock climb
it has 3 fire type moves, you could give it focus blast, earthquake or solar beam to give it some variety mine has shadow claw on it just so I could pounce on will when I was doing the elite 4
your swampert has surf, earthquake, hydro cannon, dig
again mix it up a little, stone edge and icebeam or avalanche work wonders with this set

Pkmn: Ampharos
Type: electric
Held item: magnet
Ability: static
Moves: discharge, thunderbolt, thunder wave, signal beam (obliterates dark types)
while I approve of your signal beam it does not need discharge and thunderbolt, try a focus blast/ or punch

Pkmn: Absol
Type: dark
Held item: quick claw
Ability: super luck
Moves: night slash, me first (obliterates dragon types), sucker punch, shadow ball
nightslash and suckerpunch while they do different things do not need to be on the same set, zen headbutt is a good choice or iron tail to mix it up,
instead of quick claw which works sometimes choice scarf would boost it by 50% all the time enabling me first to work most of the time, but you would be locked into the move.. so that is your choice
and as far as your primeape goes, all the macho brace is good for is slowing your poke down and doubling the ev's so unless you are ev training i recommend you finding an other item,

and for your dragonite, one of my favorite pokemon ever, you can do so much with it, I recommend you mix it up a lot, dragon attacks only are super affective against dragons, so you should only have one of those per set, my favorite set includes dragon dance, roost, outrage, and substitute, but another good set is
~ Superpower
~ Draco Meteor
~ Flamethrower
~ Thunderbolt
holding a white herb
any questions on my advice let me know kk?

Lol, it's fine, thank you very much! ^w^

I dunno, After trying some stuff out I may switch pokes around, but as for right now, I'm a bit tired of breeding and EV training and such. I do like the wall idea though, but there's not too many pokes that I know of that would make a good wall that I would like. I know that Umbreon is an excellent wall, or so it seems, I may pick up one of those. Also perhaps Dusknoir, if I'm remembering correctly. My mind is a little fuzzy as well!

Nice, your Gallade moveset is the same as mine, haha. ^^

Anywho, I think with Breloom an excellent combo (not that it's better than what you're doing, I just figured I'd give you some more options) is to combine an toxic Orb with Breloom's Ability so it heals every turn, then for moveset use Substitute, Focus Punch, Spore (the only move in the game that has a 100% chance to put opponent to sleep), and something else like Seed Bomb. It's a fantastic combination that I've seen used to decimate teams. Just thought I'd put it out there, I don't know too much about putting teams together, but I thought it was impressive. ^^
