I will begin this initiation as soon as Toff posts that he is ready. This initiation will take as long as it has to. Since no one posted wanting to support I will run this using an NPC as a supporting member.

I'm here and ready,
As for my character: Toff is a ranger, a stalwart defender of nature armed with a bow and his knowledge of the wilderness. Born an orphan and a street rat he learned the lock-picking skills that got him kicked out of the city at the age of 13. He spend the next 10 years in the forest learning the bow and the way of the wild that he grew to love as if it was a part of his being. Toff uses stealth to control long range combat with his bow, but he also carries a dagger for when things get close.

Ok, Toff. To make this a little interesting, you have 20 Arrows in your quiver. Yes, I will be keeping count. Fear not, if, on a combat roll, you hit on a 15 or higher, the arrow is recoverable.
As with Tuesday's initiation, you possess 20 hitpoints, but be advised, many of the situations for which you will be rolling damage could potentially kill you in one hit. all checks and combat rolls are made in a roll off method unless parameters are set. all rolls are made with a d20 unless otherwise stated.
Here is the situation: Duke Brisbane, local noble and bigwig, has called you forth on a recomendation of an old friend, Triskal Vern. You and Triskal were training mates, And when the Duke found himself in the current situation, your name was the first to be brought up. Brisbane has hired you to trackdown a group of bandits who are using an old abandoned temple as their base of operations. Their leader, Malarus, is an expert in the black arts, and seems to have come into possession of a letter from the Duke to The Countessa of Betany containing information of a rather personal nature. The letter is known to have been read, and Malarus has demanded an unreasonable ransom for his silence. It would be disasterous if this information got out, therefore you will have to kill Malarus to insure the information dies with him. You will be compensated handsomly for your efforts, many times more than you make as a dukey forester. You will be acompanied by Triskal. As a half elven ranger he is a competant archer and tracker, like yourself. His loyalties lie with the Duke, and is there to assist in any way he can.
At the outset of this adventure you have just reached the outskirrts of the temple. The temple is located in a clearing in the middle of a forest. the clearing is roughly circular, with the temple sitting about 100 feet away from the edge of the forest from any given point. You are facing north and are protected from view by the treeline. you can see the main entrance to the temple ahead of you. the temple is old and its stonework cracked and crumbling in places. It is roughly round in shape and domed at the top, but on the western side you can just make out that it branchs off slightly. The Main entrance is guarded by 2 bandits wearing rough leather armor, the one on the left is armed with a rough but servicable cross bow, Its string taught and a quarrel loaded. The other carries a hand axe and 2 smaller hatchets that look like they are balenced just right for throwing. niether of them can see you where you are, but both are alert, and look hungry for a chance to utilize the tools at their disposal.
It is now your move.

Using hand signals to communicate my intentions to Triskal, I stealthy head off towards the western side of the temple looking for an alternative entrance all the while making sure to keep my eye on the guards to see if they noticed us.

Ok, How are you heading off to the west side? Streight line is the fastest path of course, but I'm pretty sure the bandits will see you if you do that. If you want to try it that way, though be my guest.

no worries, just reminding you that this is a test, so I do pick up on that stuff. I'm not going to assume you mean to skirt the clearing unless you say so.
That said, you skirt the clearing, Triskal following behind cautiously. you reach the western side of the building. There is a single bandit guarding a door... he seems to be armed with an arquebus of all things... and he is VERY alert.
A little ways to the north, you see an adobe outbuilding. On which there are no windows or doors visable from your position.

hp:20 ammo:19/20 Without leaving cover and staying as quiet as possible, I ready my bow and signal to Triskal to do the same. Whispering quietly I say to Triskal "lets take him out quickly and quietly." I then take aim at the bandit armed with the arquebus and promptly let loose a single arrow aimed at the bandits chest.

Here's how combat works. You roll 1d20, this is your to hit roll.
I will also roll 1d20 for the bandit to see if he dodges.
Highest number wins.
If you peg the bandit, he will go down, no muss, fuss, or damage rolls. These guys don't even rate an HP counter.

((yes you said that before "all checks and combat rolls are made in a roll off method unless parameters are set. all rolls are made with a d20 unless otherwise stated. " I figured you'd want me to roll and went ahead and rolled before you asked me to. Was that bad? sad ))

None. The door behind the bandit is shut, and there are no other bandits that you can see on this side of the building.
