I guess this is for the purpose of getting it down on words....... to sort it out.
I'm a full fledged american mutt.
For the longest time, I thought half of me was dutch (specifically Netherlands), a forth was Norwegian, and the rest mutt. I have only just discovered that this is definately not the case. I'm still possibly a forth Norwegian from my Grandpa on my mom's side, but my dad, it turns out, is definately not 100% dutch. Grandma on his side is actually a little dutch with english, french, little bit Jewish with a touch of who knows what else. That basically cuts me down to 25% dutch, assuming my dad's dad is 100% dutch. My mom's mom's family has lived in the Americas since the first colonies. Actually we think the first lady to step foot on the colonies was our ansestor from England....from there, we could be anything. Atleast 50% mutt.
Ask for any ethnicity, my sis and I probably have it somewhere down the line.

@ soulless: So what do you pick when you're asked what your ethnicity is? You've got a lot going on. xD
All of my family on my father's side are Irish. Most of them still live there, but a few moved to Canada.
My mom's grandmother was born in Ireland, but moved to England where she met my grandfather. They later moved to Canada, and then back to England. When they split up, my gran moved back to Canada, and grandad stayed in England. Most of their children eventually made their way to Canada as well.
I was born in Canada, but grew up partially in England and Ireland as well, because my parents were young and wanted to stay near family members. I have an Irish and Canadian passport, but tend to officially call myself Canadian on forms (even though I don't sound Canadian) because it's easier to just claim one citizenship. xD
Most people just assume I'm English though, and tend not to believe me even when I tell them otherwise. xD People on the internet though tend to think I'm German because I speak the language and am attending University in Germany, but I'm not German at all. xD

@Star: Well, on US government forms I've come across so far, they usually just ask for which citizenship. All my grandparents, my parents, my sis, any close relatives and I have been US citizens, born in the states. When they ask for some kind of ethnicity -that's disappearing because of our mosaic of people- I used to put dutch. I really thought...... now My sis and I will put 'all of the above', I think our question for ethnicity has that answer. ^^

I know that on my mother's side, they are all Irish. But from my dad's, he is a mix of everything, but mostly Irish.
So in conclusion, I am basically Irish with a little bit of everything mixed in.

@ Kur ai: Wales isn't as bad as some people let on. xD Do you have trouble understanding their English, or Welch? I don't understand the Welch language at all. D:
I would like to though, so I can figure out why all those signs are so goddamn long! o:
@ silent: Irish descendant, or are any of them from Ireland? An bhfuil Gaeilge agat? pirate

I'm actually not sure. I only have my mother to go by, so I call myself a complete French.
