Amadis walked while holding hands with Akule so as to make sure the young boy does not stray. Pouncing along behind them was a winged cat-like creature that seemed to be quite new to this world just by the way it just seemed to look at everything in wonderment.
Amadis was a young woman, and short (4'7) though she hardly ever seemed to let that get in her way nor let anyone intimidate her. She was also had a lot of elven features to her and perhaps a hint of something else that made her seem so ... child-like. Her silver-white hair was simply bound back into a pony-tail which left it sitting a bit higher than the usual middle-of-back length it is when worn loosely. Apparently she didn't have time to make up her hair as she wanted before they had left to come to this park.
Akule just walked hand-in-hand with his guardian, looking around and pointing at random things while tugging on Amadis' hand to get her attention so she could tell him what it was. Occassionally he'd glance back at the cat-creature following them and give a laugh of amusement before looking around for more things to point at and question. Akule was obviously still fresh to walking as he did stumble a little on from time to time.

Opal looked up at the delightful wisps of clouds that had begun to form. It was a beautiful day.
Monsoon was also looking at the forming clouds, although she didn't look quite as happy as Opal did. In fact, she looked quite dejected. Opal knew that Monsoon was a quiet, shy girl, but this was too quiet, even for her.
Opal wondered how the two of them looked together; she, a lithe girl of 19, and Monsoon, a tiny little girl who looked like her daughter. After all, they both had the same dark skin and light hair. She imagined that old ladies were looking at her in disapproval, thinking that Monsoon really was her daughter. Opal didn't know how she'd even got into this mess. Not that she didn't want Monsoon. Monsoon was the most wonderful little person ever, but sometimes Opal wondered if she really could take care of her properly and if they were a good match.
Opal glanced down at Monsoon again. Perhaps she should find someone her own age to play with...
Looking up, she saw a little boy, stumbling and excited holding the hand of a young woman with a commanding air. Opal's face took on a curious look. That boy had the same sort of... aura that Monsoon did. In any case, they seemed like a nice pair. She started towards them; maybe both she and Monsoon could each make a new friend today.

Amadis was explaining something to Akule, but the boy noted the pair approaching them and changed the subject. It was evident because she looked straight at the mother and daughter pair as they came toward them.
"I do not know who they are dear-heart. We will find out soon enough I suppose." She faced the oncoming pair with a friendly smile. As Opal came closer she could note a symbol marked onto Amadis' forehead. As to it's meaning it wasn't always clear to everyone unless it was explained, but obviously no one is to that point yet.
The cat creature had bounded along to the side of Amadis now, but seemed to refuse to leave her side. It was sort of a dependant duckling following it's mother duck about sort of situation. The elfling woman merely had the comfort of knowing the creature and her charge would at the very least be growing up together if nothing else.
She strode forward in order to close the distance between the pair and her trio. Amadis also called out, "'Allo, friend!" a greeting she used with many on the street, at least until they proved themselves otherwise. She was a friendly sort -- on most days. As to whether or not she connected that her child and the other woman's child would be somehow of the same sort had not crossed her mind seemingly at all.
If it had ... It wasn't polite to just assume things or to just strike up conversation in such a manner. Such subjects were always better when gently leaning into them.
Akule was toddling along-side his guardian in a good natured manner. He was curious as about everything and he loved to learn and meet new people. So for him this was like a bonus!

Monsoon was finally perking up. She lifted her head and stared at the curious boy in a manner that would have been quite rude had she not been a child.
As Opal heard the woman's greeting, her face split into a grin. "Hello!"she called back, adding in a wave for good measure.
They were now standing face-to-face with the short woman and the happy little boy. Opal hadn't realized how short the other woman was. She had looked taller from far away. Not that Opal was horribly tall either, being 5'5". She quite enjoyed at least feeling tall. Opal noticed that the other woman had a strange symbol on her forehead. Not being very subtle, she decided to ask about it the first opportunity she got.
Monsoon was quite distracted by the... creature standing beside the woman. She didn't really know what it was, but it was interesting. She felt an urge to pet it, but at that moment Opal put her hands on Monsoon's shoulders for a moment and then thrust her hand forward in greeting.
"Hello, my name's Opal, and this,"she continued gesturing to Monsoon,"is Monsoon."

Both mother and son stopped across from the other two. Akule wore a smile and waved at Monsoon as he had seen Opal doing toward them. He spoke naught a word though, but he sure was friendly in all of his silences.
The creature that was following them decided to stop a bit behind Amadis peering out from behind her legs on occassion, giving off light curious 'purr' like sounds. They pair seemed like good people but still the creature was cautious.
Amadis nodded at Opal as she introduced herself and their daughter. She of course had to look a bit upward to make proper eye contact, but she didn't seem bothered by that fact at all, "I am Amadis, and this is Akule," she directed to the boy with a tip of her head and sort of sidestepped to reveal the creature, "this is Yesno. She is a little shy around strangers."
Yesno squeaked as if she had suddenly been undressed in front of the whole world and scampered. This time the creature hid behind Akule.
At being hidden behind Akule just gave a good natured giggle, though he stumbled forward a bit as Yesno did bump into him in her haste to hide from view. Sure this place was public but it did not seem to stop the creature's shyness when it came to new people.

"I can see that!"
Opal laughed as Yesno hid behind Akule. The creature was shy, like Monsoon.
"I came over to ask if Akule and Monsoon would like to play together. I think it'll be fun! And maybe we can talk while they get to know each other."
Monsoon was still inspecting Akule. Suddenly, she gave him a shy smile, which was very uncharacteristic of her.

Amadis grinned at Opal and nodded, "That obvious, huh?" The elfling replied and then listened to the proposition given by the other woman. She glanced between Akule and Monsoon and seemed to consider it a moment. They did seem very much alike in a certain way but she just couldn't put her finger on how.
Akule blinked at the smile given by Monsoon and gave forth his own dazzling smile. He found her to be a pretty. His mommy was pretty, the girl was pretty, and so was the other woman. So much pretty and only two sets of eyes. At the mention of play he looked up at Amadis hopefully, breaking eyecontact with Monsoon.
"Yeah, sure. They can play. It'd do no harm." She said after a moment as if taking Akule's gaze as a cue to okay the offer of playtime between him and the other child, "And I am sure it'll be just as fun for us to make friends too." Amadis smiled happily at Opal.

"Sounds great!" Opal returned Amadis' smile in full force. She was excited. Coming to the park had been a good idea. It was much less boring than sitting at home all day. "Excuse me for a moment."
Opal bent down to Monsoon. She hoped the girl would be alright by herself. "Monsoon, while you play with Akule, mum's going to 'play' with his mother. Is that alright?"
Monsoon nodded and emitted a soft "yes". Opal looked at the boy, and noticed he was looking at the three of them, Monsoon, Amadis and Opal quite intently. She winked at him and gave him a small smile. Opal straightened up and looked at Amadis. ""Well, I guess we can just leave these two to their own devices then."
Monsoon was looking at Akule again. She hoped he would do something, maybe start some sort of game, because she didn't really know what to do.

When Opal excused herself to talk to Monsoon Amadis turned to talk with Akule, "You be nice to Monsoon. Me and her mother are going to talk and make sure you two are alright."
The boy blinked once and then nodded showing that he understood. The short woman beamed down at her 'son' and kissed him on the forehead and nodded at Opal, "Best way t'go about it, I believe."
Akule returned his attention to Monsoon and tilted his head, what could he do with her? Well they could play games, but what did she like to do? Maybe she liked to play in the sand.. He reached out to take Monsoon's hand all the while pointing toward a sandbox which wasn't all too far out of the way and within' both mother's eyesight.
Yesno blinked up between the children and seemed to make up her mind to follow them no matter where they went to. Someone had to look after them and it might as well be her, or so the cub decided.

((Wow Pales. I've been really bad about replying to this. I swear I read it, but I couldn't think of a really good post that would advance this RP anywhere. Anyhow, I've noticed how we're both really busy at the moment, and how this RP goes fairly slow. Do you want to just pause it for a while, maybe until we're both less busy or until White Feather comes back?))
