Does anyone else carry around a little notebook or sketchpad everywhere you go, or am I the only one?
And what do you write or draw in your notebook or sketchpad?

I do, though only recently and more for drawing, but I do write in it.
I write about anything that pops in my head that I can effectively write. Little poems, thoughts, views, and quite a few ideas.
If I'm just drawing, I'll try sketching out some of my creatures to solidify their appearance, it also helps when I mature them so I have a history of growth, what they looked like.

I usually have my laptop with me, so it's not necessary, but I still have a spare notebook around for random bits of writing. I don't draw much because I'm rather s**t at it, but I sometimes doodle my characters and stuff.

I have a notebook by my bed in case I wake in the night with a random though, idea, or dream.
I have a small notebook and larger notebook, the size of my bag determines which I carry with me. In these I tend to write any sudden thoughts, phrases I hear that I quite like, parts of songs on my iPod that suddenly flick that light bulb on, etc. I've also done some outlining and random scenes on current WIP.
I also use some of my longer breaks at work to freewrite, as well as travelling on the bus.

I took my sketchpad to the conference with me this weekend. It worked quite well for jotting down people to email when I got home as well as drawing.

I actually made a scrap notebook at work today while I was on observations so that I could write and watch my patient at the same time. lol.
Think I got a few hundred words done but I'm still to type them up.

I'll have a little scene that keeps repeating through my head and I'll have to write it down. I carry a small notebook, my journal, sketchbook, pastels, a sharpie, a pencil/pen, and occasionally a book with me at all times. (And my ipod and phone)

I used to use journals for ideas, plots, characters... I even had one with height charts, time lines and maps.
Now that I'm much more into drawing I carry one around for gestures and sketches

I do. I write quick story ideas, little doodles, some proper sketches...names, weird town names. All sorts of weirdness.

I lost my iPod a while ago and don't feel like getting a new one because I always lose them. ^^ So that's why my laptop is a must wherever I go. I can do everything on it. Even still, I find my writing is just better when I do it on paper because there is a lot less there to distract me. There is no internet in a composition notebook.

@scraps: my quality of writing is generally better on the laptop, but my quantity is usually better on paper for the most part (I suspect for the same reasons though). biggrin

I carry a small sketch book, but I'd never write in it. The paper is too expensive to waste for that. gonk
I generally do quick sketches that I might turn into paintings letter in it. It might be something I think or something that just magically comes to me.

I have a Moleskine I keep in my pocket all the time. I usually jot down ideas in there, for after whatever project I am working on. Or if I need to, I draw my characters. Some are good, some need work.

I do that all the time! People think it's kind of weird, but they just don't understand that creative people need creative outlets. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one, too.
