July/August 2010 Short Story Writing Competition - What is it?
The Summer Writing Competition is pretty easy to work around. First of all, you choose one of the three prompts and write a short story no more than 2000 words long. There are five special words that you get extra points for if you use in your story. If you use one word, you get one extra point and if you use all five words, all five points are given.

Macabre – gruesome and horrifying
Inexorable – Unyielding, relentless
Loquacious – Very talkative
Delectation – Great pleasure, delight
Celerity – Quickness, swiftness
Rules
- Submission limit is 2,000 words (give or take a hundred words)
- You can enter more than one piece but you have to pay for each entry
- Do not post anything offensive or anything over the PG-13 standard.
- Respect each other’s work.
- Chose only one of the three prompts per submission
- Standard charge of 100g per entry (trade it to the PostProgressMule and I will put your name up as an Official entry)
- Judges cannot submit
