The Ranking System This is another new concept that is going to be tested in this roleplay. Player characters will be given promotions in rank throughout, depending on how certain events transpire, as well as the quality of their roleplaying ability. Though activity obviously helps in this, it is the least important of the three. A more detailed explanation of promotions will be in a later post. For now, the number of ranks is limited to four, just to see how well it works. These ranks vary on faction, as well as occupation. To give some benefit to being promoted, "Perks" will be available which your character can use within the roleplay. More details on this will follow. As the roleplay only takes place on a signle planet (currently), careers focusing on space combat and piloting have not been included. As the roleplay spreads out across the Galaxy, these will be added. Finally, there will be a list of every character and their rank in here, so that everyone can be aware of exactly what rank others are, and to make sure they are not exploiting this system. 1. How Ranks and Promotion Works 2. Jedi Ranks 3. Sith Ranks 4. Trooper Ranks 5. Pilot Ranks 6. Spy Ranks 7. Mercenary Ranks 8. Bounty Hunter Ranks 9. Merchant Ranks 10. Criminal Ranks

How Rank and Promotion Works Everyone starts at the bottom tier. Gradually, you complete tasks given to you (or self-appointed), and earn more respect from the members of your faction. This respect allows you to be promoted in rank, and enjoy the benefits of the new rank. Only the GM or a Crew Member within your faction can promote you. The GM and Crew cannot promote themselves.

Jedi Ranks Padawan- The basic rank. Everyone starts as one. They're given a set of Jedi Robes, and a non-lethal training saber, usually colored blue or green. As part of their training, they make a new lightsaber. Knight- Jedi Knights and Consulars are full members of their order. They can choose to make another lightsaber, as well as use more advanced force powers. They may also take an Apprentice (NPC). To become a Knight, one must pass the Jedi Trials. Master- Jedi Masters have successfully trained an apprentice to Knighthood, and may choose to take a new apprentice. Being of senior rank, Masters have few restrictions when using lightsabers or force powers. Masters may on occasion lead a team of Jedi Knights and Apprentices on larger missions.

Sith Ranks Apprentice- Same as a Jedi Padawan. Apprentices are just starting out, with robes and a training saber. As part of their training, they make their own lightsaber. Knight- Sith Knights and Inquisitors are fearsome enemies, fully trained members of their dark order, and loyal to the Emperor. A Knight may choose to create a new lightsaber and train an Apprentice, and have a larger arsenal of force powers. Master- Sith Masters have successfully trained an apprentice, and are the greatest threat to ending Sith rule in the galaxy. They have few restrictions, and can even be charged to lead strike teams of Sith Knights and Apprentices to combat the enemy.

Trooper Ranks Private- The lowest of the low. Privates are grunts, fodder for enemy forces to fight and die for their faction. They have basic armor and weapons and minimal training. Sergeant- Experienced soldiers can become sergeants. Sergeants aren't just a member of their nine-man squad; they lead it. Along with their corporal and the seven privates, the Sergeant's job is to lead his men into battle, and ensure the job gets done. Lieutenant- Lieutenants have seen plenty of conflict. They lead up to four squads (one platoon) worth of troopers. They're the highest rank of trooper that actively sees frontline duty. 36 men total. Captain- Experience lieutenants become Captains. They are lead a Company, the total strength of four platoons. Captains are able to call in bombing runs and artillery, or to call for reinforcements. 144 men total. Major- Majors command Battalions. Battalions consist of five companies, putting you in charge of the forces of five captains, or nearly 720 men. In addition to prior abilities, you can also order a retreat or call down orbital bombardment. Colonel- Colonels command Regiments, consisting of nearly 2100 men and all their vehicles. For a comparison, each Imperial Star Destroyer in 4 ABY had a Regiment. These are typically the smallest amount of forces sent to a battle. High Colonel-A High Colonel commands a Battlegroup, roughly four Regiments. Estimated 8400 troops, plus support and vehicles. Major General- A Major General commands a Corps, roughly four Battlegroups. Estimated 33,600 troops and support. Due to their size, a Corps' forces are usually carried on several ships, instead of just one. General- Generals command Armies. An Army is huge, consisting of four Corps, complete with all the troopers, vehicles, droids, and more. Estimated total is over 168,000, plus support and droids.
