The Hidden War (Open Combat RP)

This RP takes place in a huge cavern system. The country is split by civil war, and neither faction shows any sign of giving up. However, both sides agree that the country would be useless if war were to decimate it. They have decided to fight within a massive system of man-made caverns instead, preserving the lands above. All combatants are strictly volunteer, no drafting. There are approximately a thousand soldiers on each side, and more arrive each day by bus. The new soldiers head to the barracks, giant neutral zones where fighting is completely prohibited. The only problem is that the buses offload at the opposite end of the caverns, leaving newbs out in the warzone. Begin your adventure on a bus, and do whatever you want from there. Jeeps, bazookas, mech suits. Whatever.

Lukki clutched the seat belt tightly as the instructor talked. He went on and on about how "This isn't just a game." and "People are dying in there as we speak." She was just too nervous to pay attention to most of it. She was a smallish girl, and not very skilled in infantry combat. Where she truly shined was Mech-Suit piloting. She could drive most things, but a minimal size armor plating suit was what really made her deadly. She pulled her black hooded sweat shirt on tighter, trying to keep from shaking as the bus rolled across the rocky landscape. The instructor had already explained that they wouldn't receive any new clothes or armor until they reached the barracks. Apparently, it was a waste of money to arm you if you couldn't survive your first fight. She had heard that some of the soldiers had enough compassion to try to rescue the new ones, but she had also heard that many were left to die. However, she needed the money, and would fight as best as possible.

'takanshi sat at the back of the bus smileing happly and wistling a tune that really had no tune at all, just random out of place tune that had no beat to it, then he looked over at the small girl and laughed to him self "hopefuly she dosent slow me down",

'the soft hearted large man didnt really like fighting, but was bulit for it, bordering 7' tall and arms that were huge, he was a weapon spelicest and a expert knife/sword figher'

'sadly for the large man, his family had been hit by a twister and he need some cash, and in this econemy, war was the only way to go' "When do we get there" 'shouted takanshi as he moved his hand down to his combat knife and held the handle' "I'm ready for some death" 'he said trying to put out the image of a heartless uncareing man, even though he had desided to try his hardest to make this entire bus load survive'

Lukki frowned as the man stood up. Wow. She thought to herself. The other team probably doesn't have many guys that big. Or that violent. Actually, they probably do. Crap. . .

The instructor smiled in a mean sort of way as the bus pulled up to a the side of a very large mesa. "You'll get your death real soon." He said. "When you're ready to join the fight, feel free to get off this bus and enter the large metal doors." He opened the bus door, and the bravest of the passengers began to file out.

Lukki stepped out, checking her hip to be sure her grandfather's revolver was still there. It wasn't much, and it took forever to reload, but it had been modified to blow a hole through an armored vehicle. It was firmly in its holster, and she was prepared to use it if needed. She would probably need it in the next five minutes.

'Takanshi got of the bus, imdantly he herd gunshots and screems, witch pissed him off so he ran towrdes the metal doors and stared up pulling out his long battle knife smileing'


"everyone stay behindme and try to keep up''

'as he said this he pushed open the medal doors and ran in'



(how big would the mechs be? small enough for me to tackle?)

(It probably depends. Some people may want Mechs like the ones in The Matrix or Avatar, others may just want a suped up power ranger costume. I doubt that a megazord or a Gundam would fit in this cave, but it's your call if you post about them. Also, no matter what size it is, a mech suit would probably stand up to an unsuited tackle. Frickin' giggle.)

Lukki guessed that this huge man had some experience with live combat, so she kept in step with him as he rushed through the doors. If all else failed, she could hide behind him while he became a human bullet-sponge.

'as the doors flew open bullets wizzed passed there heads killing five of the men behind him, he looked down and saw the girl, picking her up in one arm and runing over to a destroyed mech suit and hid behind it'

'he held his nife in a attack ready stance siting behind the mech and held his other hand on the girls head holding her down so as not to get shot and then looked over at her'


"alright girly, what can you do, cuz we are screwed"

'he said still holding her head down'

"First of all-" Lukki said. "-You can let go of my head." She tried to squirm out of the big man's grip. She checked out the mech suit they were hiding behind. The shield and turret were still attached. "Second of all, just how strong are you?"  

[the strong kid]

'Takanshi let go of her head and then looked at her'

"why does that matter"


'he said oblivious of what she had in mind'

She took out her revolver, staying low as the battle raged around them. How hard would it be for you to carry a 200 pound shield, and maybe a blast rifle."

'takanshi looked over and saw the sheild'


"i could carry that, but forget the blaster"

'he said puting his knife away'

"Ok." Lukki said. "The blaster was a longshot anyway. Now I just need to break it loose somehow. A bullet would do, but it would be much easier if you could just tear it loose." She pulled back the hammer of her revolver.

'takanshi looked up at the shield and smiled, grabing it and giveing it a great tug riping the bolts apart, snaping the wires and bending the metal, and sat it down in front of lukki'


"ok now what"

"Um. . . Wow." Lukki said. "Now we should run like hell. Getting out of here is priority number one."  

[the strong kid]

"Then why did you have me rip this hunk of junk of the robot?!"

'he said pulling out his nife geting ready to run'
