Here goes nothing!

The condensed version:

~500 years ago, the world of Weyward was very different from how we know it now. Weyward was vast and full of life! The mighty Leumerians, pioneers of the world have discovered a wonderous thing: concentrations of pure elemental energies in solid form, that have been thus dubbed "Elemental Stars" for their unearthly power. Few others know of these unique bits of matter, and none understand fully how they greatly magnify adepts' psynergy, but the gracious Leumerians and their generous Queen Queras has decreed that such power should be shared with the rest of the world. As such, she has commanded that monoliths that will moderate and disperse the power of the stars be erected. Unbeknown to the gracious Leumerians though, is the terrible backlash of the stars' power, both upon the world and the human heart alike.

The nity-grity detailed version

Time frame: Pre- Golden Sun times. Approximately 500 years before the events of Golden Sun.

Technology: Steam punk level: powered in conjunction with prolific use of psynergy for scientific, industrial and medical purposes.

World Setting: Hesperia and Atteka are one continent, attached to the west coast of Angara, which is connected more firmly to Gondowan (Lalivero area and north is all land attached to angara). Osenia and Indra are also connected to Gondowan.

MAP!

THERE IS AN ADDITIONAL CONTINENT FRAMING THE EASTERN SIDE OF THE GREAT EASTERN SEA (Henceforth named by the nation that populates it: Takaou). There is a small island chain south, southeast of this new continent, and another island, about the size of Izumo southeast of that, but no further islands between Osenia's eastern coast and said island. Izumo itself is attached to the eastern edge of Angara while, the apojii Islands, and the three other major islands in the great eastern sea (excluding treasure isle) are all part of Leumeria. Tundaria is significantly more expansive as well, though there's still nothing there besides ice. The Tundarian tower has not yet been built.

The above map will reference the following.

Governing bodies: Angara is largely occupied by three independent states that are not in any large scale conflict with each other: The central-southern portion, from around the Kalay docks up as far as Vale and as far east as the lamakan desert is controlled by the most powerful of the three, Gaallo, as it contends with the large Berun empire that controls all of gondowan and indra and is just beginning to root into osenia, which is otherwise undeveloped, besides any nomadic natives.

Back to Angara, East of the Lamakan desert but only as far north as Kohlima, is the second state of Fliit. Ankohl is the capital city.

Everywhere else except on the western side of the mountain range on the western part of the angaran contient is part of the third state, which is basically kohlima, up towards Imil (which is in the past a town called Suimilitara) By the name of Iluris. This area is known for having strong Fire and Water adepts.
Gaallo has strong Earth and Fire Adepts and Fliit state has strong Wind and Earth adepts, making Angara a fairly well balanced continent in terms of elemental representation.

The Berun empire has strong water and earth adepts, and is, for now, a peaceful trading partner with Leumeria and the countries on the western continent.

The southern half of what will be atteka on this future map of the western continent is controlled by a thus far quiet, but secretly belligerent, young nation by the name of "Aerius," who are led to delusions of grandeur by an oligarchy of wind adepts who mis-use their 'foresight' to manipulate the citizenry. This country was formed by dissenters from the northern nation that guards the newly built Jupiter lighthouse. Their dissent was a little roudy but they quieted down suspiciously quickly after the fighting stopped. There is a fairly even mix of elemental adepts and mix of mastery in this highly volatile country. Even though their northern neighbor does not yet acknowledge their succession, the Berun empire and Azurlin have happily opened trade with them.

The central nation spans the rest of atteka and up until around the large lake/delta system in the south central part of Hesperia. This is the nation that Atteka and Hesperia would derive their names from: Hestteka. Guardians of the Jupiter Lighthouse, this country prides itself as having the strongest air adepts (stronger than those found in Fliit) and is a theocracy guided by an apostle, who is for the most part, the strongest seer in the country and most likely in the world.

Finally at the north of Hesperia, the already mentioned country of Azurlin is home to very traditional water adepts, and is the homeland/roots for the majority of Iluris's water adepts. Geographically, there is a very large lake (about half the whole width of the entire continent) in the northern reaches within which there is the sea serpent, Azule, who is revered as a god by the people. He is also the nation's namesake, Azurlin roughly translating to "Azule's land."

The Mercury Lighthouse was finished construction by Leumeria where it stands to this day about 150 years ago. Water and earth adepts from the north hesperia nation, Azurlin, as well as from the Far Eastern nation, Takaou, collaborated with the project and volunteered to stay, thus forming the Iluris nation.

Similarly, Leumeria coordinated the construction and completion of the Venus lighthouse around 110 years ago. The Berun Empire proudly guards it.

As I mentioned previously, the Jupiter lighthouse was finished just 10 years prior to our story in Hestteka, started by the apostle's premonition of and encouraged at Leumeria's request that came shortly after. As our story will unfold, the Mars lighthouse is incomplete, having been started only about 20 years ago, however is equipped enough to facilitate the mars starNot unlike the second Death Star. It's construction, too, is coordinated by Leumeria. The Fire adepts brought with the construction teams from Gaallo and the Takaou have recently settled a town they are calling Prox.

more to come later.

Plot/problem:

-the discovery of the elemental stars-

-> the stars were discovered by Leumerian explorers and the lighthouses were designed and constructed to strengthen and spread alchemy and psynergy since it's use for the time being is largely considered good and productive (There has not been a major war yet since the establishment of the Gondowan empire, prior to the discovery and development of alchemy and psynergy). The locations of the lighthouses' correspond to the locations where each of the elemental stars were discovered.

-> The other nations of the world (except for the central hesperia/atteka theocracy who's apostle knows of them by foresight) are unaware of the existence of the elemental stars. Hosts of the lighthouses only know that the lighthouses boost their psynergy and alchemy empirically and accept that they don't understand the technology employed by Leumeria, the oldest and most successful civilization in Weyward.

-> an unexpected side effect of the elemental stars' excavation has been noticed by only a small hand full of leumerians: monsters have started to become noticeably stronger and more numerous. While they've begun advocating the destruction of the elemental stars and have managed to halt the production of any more, they are not strong enough politically at the moment (Conservato's family is in this sect).

-Kiro's character is a Leumerian explorer further researching the effects of the elemental stars.

System: Everyone has a level, class, hp, and pp. Class determines your available psynergy hp determines/limits your physical actions, and pp moderates your psynergy usage and range. You can act and fight etc. However you like, psynergy included, provided you have the pp to do so, which includes more, creative applications of psynergy (using 'heat wave' at the ground as a supplementary propulsion, or using earthquake to create a platform to progress, for example, though both of these would use more than the base pp cost for the in battle variation).

You may list equipment for additional info for your character, but only equipment that affects hp, pp, class, or has a notable effectiveness (being particularly effective against lizards for example, even though such things didn't exist in game).

This all sounds more complicated than it is, so don't worry if you find your self confused. Feel free ask questions at any time.

You are not restricted to in-game equipment, or psynergy, but there's a limit on psynergy customization: if you want to have your character know a psynergy that their class doesn't normally know or learn, it needs to fit with the theme of the class, or you need to justify why they know it.

revised map to come

Remember that the technological level is ->Steampunk<-
this primarily affects quality of living and transportation and communication. Engineers/technitians, scientists/alchemists, and inventors are valued and important to society.

Adepts are not rare, and the general populace knows about psynergy, even if non-adpets still cannot see it directly.
This also means that psynergy is integrated into steampunk tech. Technicians are usually water or fire adepts working together. Earth and fire psynergy are employed in the refinement and manipulation of metals.

Also note that the world is a lot more populated and a lot more active than it was in the games, so government and politics are also more affluent.

The wise one may play a role somewhere down the line, but for the moment, he's a non-factor.

Yes, Prox exists. Drake is from Prox as well. Check his and Leonidas's bios for a little bit of history about the town, and be sure your bio agrees with it.
