Victorious warriors win first and then go to war...
"You have to be kidding me with this?!" yelled Aithorn as one of the generals. "Just because nothing has happened lately doesn't mean that we should stop recruiting new soldiers. When the time comes we can't all just pray that the queen comes up with something!" The general was laying down fanning himself with a fan made of leaves, a common thing in Alexandria. "Aithorn the time of peace is hear Vesperus is locked up, we have nothing to worry about." he said. "Then why are we paying you? All you do is sit around and get fat off your war check." he insulted. "From now on you are demoted to private" he said. "You can't do that!" he yeleld angrily. "I can't last time I checked I could, and if you have a problem you may take it up with the queen. Well see what she sides with" The soldier gritted his teeth at his new position. Aithorn walked off raising his head. "Ragnus!" he said as a dragon flew down from the clouds.
Grabbing the saddle he jumped onto the dragon and it took off without needed him to do anything. Dragons had a way of telling what their riders wanted. Valkenhiem and the queen had a stronger bond than he had ever seen. They can communicated over very far distances. Valkenhiem's job is to look over the country side and the queen watches the kingdom. Working together they keep an eye on any disturbances, and are quick the solve them.
Flying back to the kingdom he stopped on the docking zone and got off Ragnus. Moments later the dragon flew off back into the clouds. Walking through the castle he greeted the people cleaning the castle. He was a hero among the people, and they always made sure he knew it. He had nothing to report as usual to the queen. Nothing ever went wrong, and it was kind of boring at times. He loved fighting, but he knew that peace was so much nice. Still he was a soldier and fighting was what he was made for. Sparring matches with the men were boring since he knew he was going to win every time, but it was still nice to give them the chance. But, this time of peace was making the warriors soft, and he worried that when something happened he wouldn't be at the top of his game.
Walking into the throne room he stood before the queen and bowed. "Nothing to report today, just lazy soldiers as usual..." he said with his forearm across his chest and hand on his heart. His sword forever at his side. It was one of his closest friends, and never let him down in battle. The only one he ever lost to was Vesperus...It was a legendary sword duel, and surprisingly Vesperus fought with honor. He called off his troops and didn't use any extra powers. Still Vesperus won without trying and let Aithorn go telling him to become stronger...shaking the embarrassing memory he looked to his queen. As usual she was beautiful and calm.
...while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.

I have always found...Standing on the balcony, wings stretched out to full length, calm eyes raked over the beautiful kingdom of Alexandria. Everything was bright and cheery, the ultimate utopia achieved within her domain. Crime was never heard of, everyone had at least some money to get by, everyone had enough food to get by, and life was to an extent perfect. Perfection, however, was never meant to be kept. Balance in the end would restore itself and that was a fact she feared very much.
Celeste was created with the first light of day oh so long ago. She was created to balance out the evil of the absence of light, Vesperus. As time passed, the two battled long and hard; their forces withered and regained strength with each century's passing. Everything was balanced for quite some time, until Vesperus almost won the battle. Luckily for Celeste, his lover betrayed him and because of betrayal the light won over the darkness. Never before had she seen Vesperus as he was that day in battle.
'How tragic is that balance, that the impure and shattered heart was how we pulled ahead in that last battle. Not the power of good, but the power of darkness that pulled him back that last day. Sad really, but should that off centered balance give my people peace, then so be it. Celeste thought to herself as she pulled in her wings and returned to her throne room. She always hated that term, throne room. Being so much higher than others in her kingdom bothered her since she felt so connected to everyone in her kingdom that it felt wrong for her to subjugate them. But again the balance of power decreed a high and low, even in society.
Sitting in her chair, she thanked her head lady in waiting that brought her a goblet of wine. Sipping from her cup, she noticed an oh so familiar blond head on top of armor stride into the room. "Please Aithorn, how many times must I ask you to end the formalities. I've known you since you were a youngling and have seen you grow to the man you are now, no need to treat me as either someone above you or someone unfamiliar with you." she said with a calm tone as she motioned to the chair beside her throne. For most it was an honor to sit to the right of the queen, but for Aithorn it was something that happened almost every day.
"As for the soldiers, I shall throw a tournament at the end of the the harvest season. The best soldier wins the prize. They must be in the best of shape in order to even have a chance of winning said prize, which shall also be a surprise. You can spread word of the tournament when you travel between the flanks of soldiers later or I'll send a messenger, it's your choice. she said as she watched a maid bring a goblet of wine to Aithorn. Every movement before her was always watched carefully as though it gave her some entertainment apart from her regular routine of royal duties throughout each day. ...that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war...
"My apolgies my queen. I find it difficult to avoid formalities when I'm still in uniform. It is the way I have always been this way. You know that better than anyone" he said moving over to the chair. He say down. It was always comfortable as not many people sat in it. The queen always had a nice scent and looked her best at all times even though at most times she wasn't trying. He always thought it was such an honor to be immortal, but unlike the queen a blade could slay him. She however had live as the pillar of light. However he knew know matter how bright light was there would always be shadows. He knew that Vesperus wouldn't stay quiet forever, and he was sure that the queen knew it too.
She knew everything and that's why he wore his rune. He had a mage make it for him. It blocked his feeling for the queen from being read. He had fallen for her long ago, but thought it would only make things difficult for the queen. He knew he could never betray her, but that was what weakened Vesperus. The maid walked up to him and handed him some wine. He preferred citrus, but wine wasn't half bad.
"A tournament sounds fun, of course I will not be participating." he said. "We need to give them all a chance to win, we can send out a messenger right away" He took a sip of wine. "The prize will be a trophy as always. Awarded by the most beautiful women in the kingdom! You of course." he said smiling. He still had to make his rounds to see Valkenheim, but he could catch up to him easily. He loved to sleep so he wasn't hard to find. "Is there anything you had to tell me my queen?" he asked finishing his wine.
...while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.

I can't regret what I do to others...
Sitting on his throne as he watched out to his kingdom he smiled something devilish. It had only been a hundred years since he had been set free and he felt like it was forever ago. He found amusement in thinking up new nightmare for the people above. And at the same time he probed their minds for information. It was easy to find the ones he needed. They were usually in the army, but he had to pick on the townsfolk to make sure that he wasn't figured out. Suddenly he found a napping soldier. He had heard about a tournament that accepted all fighters. He would get rid of that troublesome girl. Although she could be of some use to him, but he had grown an intense hatred for her. her soul was strong and she was a good bartering tool if he had to deal with the queen. She could always turn her to darkness and watch the queen squirm knowing she was with him.
He always liked making her suffer. He owed it to her after what she did to him. He hoped she had been enjoying her time off peace. He hoped her people danced and drank to their hearts content. He hoped they were having the time of their live, and celebrating years of peace at Vesperus' expense. That would make the day that he took that all away all the sweeter. He would enjoy slaughtering the people of her world and drinking on their souls. The queen was lucky that she did not require sleep. he had the nastiest nightmare already lined up for her if she ever thought of closing her eyes for even a minute. Sleep for the two of them was a way to regenerate their powers at an accelerated rate. Vesperus enjoyed years of sleep, but in that sleep he planned and schemed.
A demon looking like a young girl walked up to him and bowed. "Preparations are complete" she said. He already sent for a warrior to be created for the tournament. "Pandorous does work fast doesn't she?" he said standing up. She gave no further response. Vesperus hated people talking more than they had to to him, but he himself loved to talk. He walked over to her and looked further into the underworld. He laughed turning back and heading towards a wall. A portal opened up and him and the girl went in. there were no doors in his fortress. You had to be able to warp from place to place, which made invasion impossible for most people. He walked down the hallways looking around at his home. "The knights of Sin really are incredible aren't they? I gave each of them a little personality from me" he said. "Surely they will lay waste to that pitiful light army. The girl nodded and continued walking by his side.
He placed his hand on a wall making another portal. He stepped in and appeared at the library. "Pandorous!" he shouted. "Have you completed the book yet? I need to seal it" he said waiting at in one of the book isles. Pandorous had a way of teleporting to anywhere in the library so he knew she would find him soon. "I'm heading out as soon as I do" he said as a book floated to him. He sealed it knowing Pandorous was probably busy writing.
...If I did I wouldn't be king now would I?

We shall find peace.A slight smile tugging at her lips, Celeste was always in a light mood when Aithorn or his second command were in the room. She had known them since before they were even conceived and made sure they were well trained and properly cared for, even though that knowledge was barely known to the two. When conceived, she had a feeling of great importance for them and thus she made sure they would have everything they needed to reach their full potential.
"Apologies are not required either Aithorn. I've known a time or two when you called me by my name, I'm sure those times can be repeated in the future. And though you're flattery is sweet, humility is still something you lack. Though you are the strongest warrior, to automatically assume that upon yourself leads you down the path for another to take your place. Because of that I would prefer you to enter the tournament since the soldiers need to see what a true warrior is like." she said as she waved her hand to have the servants leave the room so only she and Aithorn remained. No one questioned her command, after all, why question a queen who was as pure as light?
Taking the last sip from her goblet, Celeste lay the cup down as she thought about how she wanted to speak her thoughts. It was simple for others to convey a message to her since she could read their minds as easily as she could a book, however, eloquence was lacking at the moment for her to speak her worrisome thoughts. "There is something I had to tell you, you must work the soldiers back into shape and keep them above my standards. The balance of power has been tipped to favor one side for far too long. Vesperus and I were made to rule at the same time, light and dark to balance good and evil in this world. Good has reigned over the dark for quite some time, thus either dark with regain it's equal status in the future or Alexandria will be plunged into darkness. No matter what, we must be prepared. Should anything happen to myself, though highly unlikely, I need you and Valkenheim to lead the other parts of my army to protect the people. Can I leave that burden upon your shoulders?"
In the middle of her worded thoughts, Celeste stood and began to walk towards the balcony once more. Stopping where she could see over her city yet stayed within the confines of the room. Her voice was steady, but her eyes revealed the emotion, the worry, the hope that her voice would not allow. That was also why she had to turn her back to him. She must remain strong, the pillar of light and strength for her people. Emotions, though healthy, were also volatile and could corrupt her decisions. Balance amongst her emotions was another thing that she had to keep in equal proportions to assure the best in herself and for her people. We shall hear the angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds.

Victorious warriors win first and then go to war...
Even though he didn't think it was a good idea he wouldn't refuse his queen. "As you wish. I will participate in the games...Celeste" he said having to force himself not say "my queen". It had really become a habit after hundreds of years of learning how to act around the queen. But he was worried about the tournament if the men knew he was entered they would no doubt not fight at their best. he would have to enter in disguise. That way everyone would have a good time. He smiled hoping he'd have a powerful opponent this year. He had a good feeling he might if his second in command entered. She was getting stronger everyday. She trained almost as hard as Aithorn did.
He watched as the mood of his queen changed she was serious now. He got up and bowed. "I have been thinking the same thing for a long time. That is why I am so hard on the troops. If something happens. You have my word that anything happens...I will do what I have too, but I can't control Valkenheim. He will most likely go after whoever is responsible" he said. "But I won't let that happen. I'll protect you even if I lose my life in the process!" he said standing up. He was serious about what he said and the queen knew that more than anyone.
As night came the queen dismissed him to his quarters after saying a few more things to him about the subject. The tournament would be in three days. He trained hard and made sure his troops were going to participate. It would be a two day tournament and several matches would take place at the same time. The day of the tournament came and the list of entries was immense. As he wanted he was on the other side from his second in command. And there was one name he had never heard before. He knew all the fighters in the city or so he thought. He would keep an eye on him. Aithorn was tearing through the tournament under the name. "Ashe Veinmont" he made it up at the last moment.
He was out on the the round that his second command was fighting so he was able to watch. She was fighting the man that he was keeping his eye on. "Vice Ichmond..." he whispered. "Who are you..." The man was hooded and cloaked hiding everything. His sword was simple and nothing special about it. Just a standard long sword with a few runes on it. Standard Alexandrian steel. He stood starring down Amore and didn't move an inch. She dashed at him going all out and he simply dodged her. She was attacking quickly too which made it seem strange. He spun and countered with a simple shove that knocked her off balannce. He sweep kicked her and held his sword to her chest. The announcer declared Vice the winner and he walked away.
Aithorn stood with his eyes open wide. He jumped down to the waiting room for the fighters. They were to stay there when not fighting or watch the others fight. The cloaked man was waiting on a wall saying nothing to anyone else. It didn't even seem like he was breathing. Aithorn made his way over to him. "That was some fight..." he said. "Your pretty good" The man moved his head slightly. "I suppose..." he answered. His voice was cold as ice. Made you want to shiver just hearing it. "Well I'll see you out there. If you keep this up well be in the final match together." he said. Vice didn't respond again until after Aithorn left. "I hope your ready Aithorn..."
The matches continued until like Aithorn thought it was him and Vice. The two fighters got ready. Aithorn with his ledgendary stance and Vice with his regular standing stance. Aithorn gritted his teeth. "Why aren't you getting ready Vice!?" he shouted across the ring. "You should know already..." he said walking towards Aithorn. He suddenly dashed towards Aithorn slashing rapidly. Aithorn could barely keep up and had to keep from getting to close. It seemed like the man was playing with him. The man kicked Aithorn back and let him get up while casting a glare at the queen who was watching from above. "This time of peace has made us weak hasn't it?" said the man to Aithorn.

I have always found..."Valkenheim and I have already discussed this. He will try his hardest to listen to you should anything happen to me because he knows through our bond that above all else the people should be placed before our pride or stubborn ways." Celeste said, showing a partial smile to the thought of Valkenheim submitting himself to another rider and/or companion. Valkenheim had been with Celeste for so long, that they need not even be close to each other to communicate or know what the one requires from the other. That bond probably could not be replaced, but she made Valkenheim understand Aithorn's loyalty and how he'd be the best to listen to in a time of ultimate crisis.
Turning to face Aithorn, she stared at him for a second. His declaration for an end of his life in order to protect hers struck a nerve. She couldn't die, but he could. The worst that could happen to her is being taken away and beaten, but not death. Eyes slightly narrowing, she took a deep breath as she took a few steps towards him. "Protection is not what I require Aithorn. If it comes down to your life ending to protect my physical being, I am ordering you - because I know you won't listen unless otherwise ordered - that you back down. I am immortal, no weapon will end my life. You are immortal, but with a mortal's fate at the end of a sword. You must keep the people above all others, even myself. Now go, you need sleep in order to prepare for the tournament coming soon."
With everything said and done, placidity returned to Celeste as she turned her back once again to Aithorn. Before he could say anything or anyone could enter, she moved to the balcony, spread her wings, and let the wind lift her into the sky. Floating near the building, she only had to flap her wings twice to get to the balcony of her room. Stepping down on the ground, her wings tucked in loosely to her back. She couldn't leave them out without breaking something which would make more of a mess for the servants clean. Not something she liked making them do. But as of right now, she took the order she put upon Aithorn and prepared for bed. She too needed rest for the days and weeks ahead of her. Who knows what was going to happen?
Sitting upon a stage set up to oversee the tournament, Celeste watched with calm eyes as the soldiers partook in different events. She also kept an eye upon those she knew well or didn't know whatsoever. Aithorn was fighting under the name Ashe, Amore as herself, and then a random man she had never seen before name Vice. With so many around though, it was hard for her to get a read on him, though she was sure he was safe enough. After all, the treaty was still in effect and no one who wanted to promote gore could go above ground. 'Or so I hope.' she thought to herself as she smiled and waved at everyone that passed.
A day had passed and now she sat upon the stage with the prize sitting upon her lap on a velvet pillow. Well really it was a container with the prize inside, she didn't want to ruin the surprise just yet. Final round, Aithorn against the stranger. She knew Aithorn would be in the final round since in her opinion, he was the best fighter in the land, but the stranger was proving to be a threat. From what she had seen, he would be an equal match at the very least for Aithorn. Whether or not he would win, she would not say or even try to determine in her mind. ...that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.

"And here I had high hope for you Aithorn, what a disappointment" he said as he tapped his foot as if he heard a song in his head. Aithorn's Eyes widened as he started to back up. "it can't be..." he said readying his sword. He dashed toward the man powering up his sword to the fullest. It was a completely different fight as the two fighters seemed to be even. They clashed blades sending small waves as the blades clashed. It started to look like a dance as both fighter exchange blows. The fight was so powerful it wasn't able to be contained in the arena. Aithorn gritted his teeth as he swung hard. Vice blocked and was sent toward the castle wall. He stood on the wall looking up at Aithorn.
"Come now..is that all you got?" he taunted. Aithorn dashed towards him running up the wall and attacking viciously. vice blocked the attacks and spun under one thrusting the sword forward as Aithorn barely dodged. Vice jumped back towards the arena as Aithorn followed. In mid air Vice grabbed Aithorn's face and threw him back into the arena. Vice readied his sword and slammed down as Aithorn rolled to the side using his sword to get up quickly. He was getting tired though and Vice was still tapping his foot. "I'll finish this game...Aithorn" he said dashing to him. He spun swinging his sword stopping right at Aithorn's neck. "Declare me the winner..." said Vice looking at the judge.
Aithorn glared up at the man spinning under and swinging hard. They locked blades and Aithorn got a good look under the cloak. Seeing a face he remembered all to well. "V..." he managed to get out. "Not quite yet..." he said punching Aithorn in the stomach. He kicked twice Aithorn twice in the chest before punching him in the face and guiding him to the ground knocking him out cold. He sheathed his sword as the announcer hesitantly declared him the winner. He smirked as he walked to where the judge was as he guided him to a stair case that lead to the queen. He walked up and stood before the queen. He bowed waiting for her to present his prize.

We shall find peace.Celeste watched with a calm facade as the two men fought on. Of course a small part of her was worried about Aithorn's well being, but most of her wondered about the man. She caught his glare but did nothing before, but now seeing his power it made her worry. No one glared at her, at least not in her city. And no one ever stood equal or more to Aithorn except herself, Vesperus, and Vesperus' best fighter. Since two of those could not be fighting before her, the man became a top priority for her to find out more about.
As Vice told the judge that he should be declared winner, which the judge should have called sooner, Aithorn began to fight back once again. This time they left the safety of the arena and began to fight against her castle and in mid-air. Not only did she worry that they might break through a wall and perhaps hurt someone inside the castle, but also if one would knock the other into the crowd. The tournament was supposed to be regulated fights, not full out brawls that could harm the populace who were here to watch the mere sport of fighting.
In the end, Celeste watched as Aithorn was beaten and Vice was escorted to her to claim his prize. As she motioned for the medic to attend Aithorn, she stood and smiled as Vice bowed before her, not because she was happy, but because it was what she was supposed to do. Putting the pillow into the hands of another, she opened the silver ornate container to pull out a large black gem that could fit in one's palm. "As the winner of this tournament, I, Queen Celeste Tilde, present you, Vice, the ultimate gift in Alexandria. Though the crystal seems dark and unlike what belongs in this radiant city, it shall light your way in even the darkest of places. Keep it close and it shall protect you always." she said as she bestowed Vice with his gift.
'Something is not right about him. The vibe rolling off of his inner being is not pleasant whatsoever. Too bad he has no thoughts for me to pick at right now. she thought to herself as she pulled her hands to her side and turned to the people. Giving a farewell acknowledgment of their watching the tournament, she wished them all blessings on the journey home. We shall hear the angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds.

I can't regret what I do to others... Taking the gem he smiled. He held it in his hand as the gem tried its hardest to shine as soon as it touched his hand as if it were trying to fight off the darkness, but it failed as it turned to dust. He smiled looking up at the queen. "What a horrible prize...I thought maybe a kiss from the queen would have been better. Maybe it would have maybe Aithorn fight better. He has always been quite found of his queen hasn't he?" said the man laughing. He stood up the darkness of his hood still hiding his face. He knew that she was trying to figure him out. His mere presence seemed to make the palace seem a bit darker. He attendant was shaking a deep fear swelling inside her. She backed holding the pillow tight. "I'm surprised you didn't stop the fight yourself queeny?" what would you have done if I killed everyone in the audience?" he said reaching for his hood then dragged his finger on the edge teasing her with his identity.
He walked around her wanting her to make the first move, but knowing she wouldn't. That was something about her that always ticked him off. She would never take the initiative when it came to a fight unless you pushed her. he stopped back in front of her again. "Still as beautiful as ever. I'm glad these years of peace have been kind to you!" he said ripping off his cloak as his long back hair fell. He let a purple flame form in his hand. "They have been pretty nice to me too" he said smiling. He reached up and pointed his hand at the maid. He lifted her with darkness and let the shadows dance around her neck as they began to choke her. Then he sent her flying hitting her on a wall and knocking her out.
A group of soldiers stood in front of Celeste. "Why do the pawn always make things difficult. He waved his hand smacking them away. He looked at the queen. "They have been talking to me you know? For as long as you have kept this imbalance they believe I should have my equal time in the spot light. Its only fair." he said placing his hand behind his back. He knew she had so many questions on her mind, and he was willing to answer them all. "How did I get out?" he said knowing she was thinking it. He smiled vanishing into the shadows of the castle as a scream echoed coming from her younger sister's chamber followed by a laugh that you could hear all over the castle.

I have always found...Celeste refused to let him rouse her into a fight. That petty behavior was far beneath her and her many years alive. Waving her hand in the air, she turned the dust back into a crystal as it fell into the maid's limp lap. With a flick of her wrist, the crystal released a healing light onto the maid. A medic would be better, but it was all she could do for the poor girl right now. She'd make sure to give her a raise and time off from the castle after she wakes. She'd make sure to give anyone hurt a raise and time off, being attacked by Vesperus was worthy enough for compensation of some form.
"Everyone stay away from him, even if it means you cannot protect me." She said with a loud and clear voice after she saw her guards whacked to the side like rag dolls. Before she could make any move to either help her people or go after Vesperus, he was gone and a blood curling scream from her loved one echoed over the valley. Seventh Sanctum in hand, she raised it above her head as the crystals scattered throughout Alexandria turned on. Any foreign presence's energy would be taken from them in small increments into the crystals. Since he was one, he would be targeted more ferociously. Sure he had as much power as she, which was a lot, but that didn't not change the crystals.
Rising into the air upon her wings, Celeste flew quickly to the castle. Changing the weapon her hand into a scythe, she readied her weapon as she ran to her sister's bedroom. Holding back sorrow and rage at the sight of her sister's body dead upon the floor with Vesperus standing above it, she now felt that attacking was within her right. With a placid facade sticking her voice and body, she slashed the air which sent a powerful light wave throughout the room. Anything in Alexandria would not be effected by light magic, especially at the time when the sun was at it's highest in the sky like right now.
Charging behind the wave, her weapon changed into a sword as she began to attack him with a speed equal to his own. Her army might have grown weak, but she had not. In fact, with peace throughout the land, her body and mind had revitalized and she was as strong as she had ever been. ...that mercy bears richer fruits than strict justice.

I can't regret what I do to others... Smiling he took out this sword and started to fend off her attacks they were evenly matched as things should be, but this was her time of day and he needed to find a power source soon. He jumped away from her throwing his Alexandrian sword out the window and bringing up shadows to protect him from her light. It struck a man in the check as a woman screamed seeing his dead body. The panic spread person to person. Forming his own blade out of the darkness he looked at it smiling. "Way better than any blacksmith of light could make" he said swinging it. He felt the fear outside and began to feed of it feeling his power increase. Then he held his hand out towards the dead sister as her soul floated to him. "This will make a fine demon" he said clenching his hand and sealing the soul. He looked her smiling. He was only allowed to take the souls of the wicked while she the pure. So how was he able to take hers?
"Your sister isn't the sweet girl you think you know. I did you a favor" he said smiling. He smiled seeing the anger on her face. "She was to die anyways...she broke the treaty. Those were the rules. And setting me free? Who would have thought of all people the queens own flesh and blood? To bad she isn't immortal like us..." he said walking towards her. Increasing his speed he slashed rapidly with his blade. Hearing a roar from outside he saw a red dragon bust through the window to the room. Aithorn with sword drawn glared at Vesperus his sword soaking up the power of the queens light. He dashed at Vesperus interrupting his attack on the queen, and stood in front of her. "Are you alright my queen?" he said his sword raised to Vesperus.
Vesperus smiled as all the shadows around the room came to him. He smiled as a second sword formed in his other hand. It wasn't like his own blade and definitely weaker but he preferred having two swords. Dashing towards Aithorn he smacked him to the side before locking blades with both Aithorn and the Queen. "This time of peace is at end! I came here to declare war...I don't want it to be over to fast." he teased. "So I'm giving you time to prepare..." he said breaking the lock and stepping towards the window. His hair blew in the wind as he listened to the chaos below. Wings of darkness spread behind him as he took off to the skies. The angry Aithorn jumped his dragon following him preparing to attack.

We shall find peace.Celeste fought against Vesperus, only using as much power as he did in order to make sure she didn't deplete her energy. As shadows and fear reigned through the castle and the land, the stone in her Seventh Sanctum began to glow bright. It's aura, she hoped, would at least purify the thoughts of those having the worst fear encompassing their hearts. 'I refuse to speak with this darkness. she thought to herself until she saw him take her sister's soul.
Agreement bound to their blood, corrupt to dark, pure to light. One born to light went to the dark though. Why? She dare not ask since her own intuition told her the answer. Nyx always envied her, even when Celeste gave everything she could to Nyx. The only thing not allowed to be shared with her sister was Celeste's crown. But to go this far for such a stupid little title was beyond her imagination and was like a knife stabbing into her heart. Her own flesh and blood betrayed her, yet she would not let that hinder her.
Letting go of everything inside herself, Celeste prepared for another attack when Aithorn came crashing into the room on his dragon. Frozen in place for second, since just moments before he was unconscious on the sparring mat, Celeste could do nothing but nod as a reply to his question. Fighting for a few seconds before their blades locked, Vesperus backed away and out the window with Aithorn at his heels. "Aithorn stand down!" she yelled as she ran past him and his dragon to follow Vesperus to the sky, her element.
In the air she flew faster than most dragon riders, but Vesperus gathered himself in the shadows of the land and disappeared. Frustrated and upset, emotions finally flooded into the queen's mind, only to increase with the emotions she could feel from her people. At least this was something she could help. Seventh Sanctum in it's scythe form, she held it above her head, letting the sunlight gather in the stone. A few deep breaths, she shot out her brightest light she could over Alexandria and let it chase away all negative energies amongst her people. The light even gathered amongst the small crystals, and with the help of power stolen from Vesperus, the light was blinding white before it faded.
Drooping slightly, Celeste spoke out to her people below, telling them of the war ahead, for them to prepare, yet never fear. As long as there was a fragment of light left in the world, there would always be hope for peace. With that said, she flew tiredly back to her castle. The magic used to cast darkness away from her people took a toll on her since she had not used that much magic for quite some time. Breathing only slightly labored, she sheathed her weapon to her back before she knelt at the balcony and rested for some time. We shall hear the angels, we shall see the sky sparkling with diamonds.

I can't regret what I do to others... He had gotten to her and he knew it. He flew back kicking Aithorn's dragon away. He corrected in mid air, but when he looked back Vesperus was gone. He flew back to his queen and his dragon flew away. Kneeling down next to his queen. "Celeste are you okay?" he said placing a hand on his queen's shoulder. She looked exhausted and knew she would need to sleep in order to be able to be herself again. Vesperus had gotten away, but the treaty was broken and nothing could stop him from going down there now. Except maybe his queen. She was alway so protective of him and Amore. They would need to strike back at some time though, and she knew that to. He would make sure the troops were ready should she give the command.
He picked her up letting her lean on him as he escorted her to her chamber she used her staff to show the door and he put her in her bed. Amore was at the door and let herself in. "Is she alright Aithorn?" she said looking around the room. She saw the queens light and knew that whoever was there had to be strong enough to force that attack. She walked up and looked at the queen she looked out of it after that attack. She left to investigate the rest of the palace. He saw that the queen's sister was dead and was saddened. But she wouldn't let herself cry. She was a soldier and she had to be strong. For herself and her people. She felt bad losing in front of Aithorn even if it was Vesperus she lost to.
Vesperus had already made his way back to the castle and had his prize with him. Heading to the library he gave Pandorus the soul in order to create his demon. He smiled knowing he had done everything he needed to do. The demon that he would make would have to look just like her sister for it to work. Pandorous did good work though so he wasn't worried. He didn't use much power so he simply waited for the second half of his play to work. He would keep the queen from regaining power quickly by filling her head with nightmares. She had to power to fight back and that was something he always had to compensate for.
...If I did I wouldn't be king now would I?
