next time your parents say somthing about not liking how you do somthing, remind them that when you were a little kid, they told you that you could be whatever you wanted to be, that you should be you, noone else, that its your life to live. If they still have the guts to tell you how to live, then ignore them. its what I do with my mom. she wants me to be cristian, go to church every sunday, and be a lawyer when I grow up. I dont go to church, Im wiccan, and Im gonna be a lot of stuff when I go through collage, but not a lawyer.

Yeah I know what you mean...I'm sorta a goth-emo hybrid, and my mom won't leave me alone. She just keeps asking me why I want to be goth or emo...and when I answer, my dad butts in and says all my answers are stupid. What's the point?! And they said that they are considering not letting me wear dark colors anymore. At all. Or skulls. Or anything even mildly dark. And they don't believe in shopping at Hot Topic or any places like it. It makes stuff reeeally hard... emo

Well i don't have this problem- yet- because i just started going goth over the summer. I don't think they realise yet, plus i don't like lables anyway. I am who i am. But the reason they don't like it i think is because all of the lables and predujes and ideas that come with emo/goth/punk. They are scared and only want to protect us.

Miss Annalise Graye Yeah I know what you mean...I'm sorta a goth-emo hybrid, and my mom won't leave me alone. She just keeps asking me why I want to be goth or emo...and when I answer, my dad butts in and says all my answers are stupid. What's the point?! And they said that they are considering not letting me wear dark colors anymore. At all. Or skulls. Or anything even mildly dark. I'm really sorry for you. Kinda of the same. I'm a tomboy lesbian (somewhat in the closet) and love my dark loose shirts, skinny jeans, skirts, shorts (guys and girls), tank tops, and converse. But they try to buy me girly clothes everything but the skirts, skinny jeans, and tank tops, are from the guys department. I would love to shop from Hot Topic more often but I have low money. So I go to thrift shops for most of my clothes.
It gots so annoying to deal with them. Why can't parent and gift-givers just give us the money so we can buy things we like and let us express ourselves.
I feel for ya. Hope things get better!

Well, To Be Honest .. My Parents Dont Know The Whole "Emo" Thing Yet ... They Only Know The Stereotype Of "Emo" ... Well My Mom Does At Least ... Anyways, They Only Nag Us Because Even Though They Tell Us To Be Whatever We Want Ourselves To Be, They Really Just Try To Trick You And Lead You Into Being What They Want You To Be. But I've Been Wearing A Lot Of Kandi Bracelets So They Think I've Gone Back To Normal .. Although they Dont Know What These Bracelets Are Covering. And The School Has Tried To Get Me Into Counseling But My Parents Refuse To Believe That I Cut Myself And Such .. Thank God. o.o
