Weapons: Nothing but his powers.
Powers: His curse gave him some frightening abilities that all directly relate to keeping him alive. First of all, via eye contact, he can paralyze the person he's looking at. Secondly, by kissing someone, he can remove their soul (and eat it). Thirdly, he can sense the locations of souls around them and to some extent determine the soul's identity and emotions. All of these are geared toward him feeding on souls. Obviously, he eats souls to remain alive. There are more quirks to the soul-eating, and those will be revealed in-game.
Weakness: Shigai's body doesn't heal itself without him eating a soul. A cut that would be a mild annoyance for a normal human could make him bleed out if he doesn't consume a soul in time.

History: Shigai doesn't remember much of his history. At one point in the past, though, he was your average male human being. That changed, however, when he got on the bad side of an elderly woman with some very nasty cursing talents. She put a curse on him that made him required to eat souls to stay alive. His hunger for souls caused him to kill those who were closest to him, and he fled from his hometown in search of a way to break this terrible curse. Nearly two hundred years later, he has given up on finding a cure. He has resolved to live life as well as he can, all things considered. He was the third person to be in the Yami, and he is fiercely protective of his leader.
Personality: Cold, alien, remote. He doesn't talk much, preferring to communicate with hand signals. He dislikes killing, but it's what he has to do to remain alive and quite frankly he's terrified of dying.
Appearance: Clothing-wise, Shigai wears all black and has as much of his skin covered as humanly possible. He wears a cloak over top of everything else, and he also wears a black mask that lacks eye holes. Under all of those clothes, he looks rather... dead. Dead and decomposing. Blame it on him eating the bare minimum of souls that he can get away with and still remain alive. But that's what he looks like: a rotting corpse. Not a pretty sight no matter how you stretch it. At least he doesn't smell like one, though. Surprisingly enough, he smells quite good. Call it a predator's odor. Makes it easier for the prey to be lured in.

Weapons: Kunai and a specially-designed bladed glove
Powers: Takumi makes no sound when he moves. Ever. And with a bit of focus, he can move without being noticed. Not invisible, but unseen. Like onlookers just can't focus their eyes on him, so he escapes their notice.
Weakness: Greed, mainly. He's a bit of a kleptomaniac. He also has a tendency to be highly arrogant and leap before he looks.

History: Takumi's parents abused his powers when he was a child, having him steal various things for them to get rich. He grew tired of giving everything to them, though, so he ran away and started to steal for himself. Stealing started to get a bit boring, so he started working as an assassin-for-hire. It was during that phase of his life that he started being hunted by Kurei. In fact, Kurei was returning from another unsuccessful hunt after Takumi when he found that his sister had been killed. Kurei approached Takumi after that and asked for the man's help in gathering together a group of dangerous men (and women) in order to assassinate the shogun. Therefore, Takumi is an unofficial second-in-command of the Yami.
Personality: Takumi is arrogant and he doesn't quite know when he quit. He loves taking stabs at other people's egos, and he is generally not a nice guy. He's startlingly competent at what he does, but he's a jerk. It's a wonder that anyone can stand being around him.

Other Information: Takumi likes to mess around with poisons. He coats his weapons in them. They aren't fatal, but they cause considerable pain and are paralytic for short periods of time.

Weapons: a pair of kodachi
Powers: He is unnaturally agile and quick. In the way of jumping, he can leap up onto a roof without much difficulty. He also has special metal claws attacked to his boots which allow him to cling to the side of buildings by his feet.
Weakness: Though he is very difficult to hit, he can't take much of a beating before going down for the count. Very dexterous, but lacking in constitution.

History: Mafuyu is a member of a clan of mercenaries that are centered outside Osaka. From an early age, he was trained in the ways of combat, specializing in fighting multiple foes at once. His parents are under the employ of the shogun in his defense, though Mafuyu was on a different contract when that bargain was struck and he therefore had no part in it. He has thus far not been offered a job for either the Yami or the Shogunate, so he is keeping in the vicinity of Edo and waiting to be hired.
Personality: He is a charming and rather nice guy when you get to know him, but at first glance you'd think him a simple sellsword who will do anything for money. Which is true to a certain extent, really. He would do many things if you paid him to, but he does have a bit of a conscience about it.
