Gender: Male/Male
Side: neutral/neutral
Alignment: Good/Evil
Sexual Orientation: heterosexual/ blood.. sexual? doesn't exist? ok then, asexual
Personality:
Tsubame- Kind, caring, soft spoken and deeply spiritual. Bears great guilt for his very existence and constantly searches for someone capable of killing him.
---
Yaiba- psychopathic, homicidal, constantly laughing (albeit maniacally), incredibly intelligent and crafty despite his insanity, loves blood(the taste, the smell, the color, everything about blood) more than anything
Appearance: Tsubame is fairly tall and wears the traditional robes of a Buddhist monk along with many prayer beads hung around his neck. He is rather thin for his height and looks physically frail. His head is obviously shaven as is the way of his discipline, yet he retains a youthful appearance despite his age and wardrobe (this is because of Yaiba being in his body). His left arm is completely wrapped up in medical tape but this is just to cover up the scrolls of heavenly seals he's wrapped around it underneath. He also had a prayer bead bracelet for extra insurance. His eyes are of a deep-sorrowful gray.
---
Being stuck in Tsubame's body Yaiba has lost his original appearance but you can tell that he has awakened by the sudden growth of a large, shaggy white mane of hair as well as the more evident myriad of scythe blades that rip out of his right arm, as well as the few that poke out of his back and the two placed at the back of his caffs. His presence also makes Tsubame's Eyes turn to a wild red and his teeth grow to fangs.
History: In life Tsubame was a traveling Buddhist monk who worked tirelessly to aid those in need. Though he had quite the talent in exorcism and the banishment and purification of demons, his true calling was charity work. He would help build shelters for those without homes, He would work tirelessly to bless the fields of farmers, then work hard in them so that they may produce ennough food to sustain their village until the next year. He gave his all for not only the blessing and protection of people's lives but also worked tirelessly to improve their way of life. However, as much as he was known with the commoners for his kind soul, it was his spiritual powers that drew the attention of lords wherever he went, no matter where he was it always seemed like some wealthy man was willing to pay him mounds of gold for the exorcism of some evil spirit, or the slaying of some demons. He had no need for such frivolities and he much preferred spending time with the people but he took the jobs anyways and always made sure to pump the nobles with too much wealth for all they were willing to give. This was not out of greed since he only ever kept ennough money to feed himself and keep him healthy on his travels, the rest he re-distributed among the people later. This earned him the respect and admiration of many peasants and he soon found himself with a small gathering of like-minded people who wanted to travel the world and spread Buddha's love for the world, helping those less-fortunate than they. Tsubame grew close with these men and women of purer hearts and soon the group wove between them the ties that bind those related by blood.
One day however, After having done battle with a particularly powerful demon for over four days, Tsubame, returned to his group with a particularly bad wound to his left arm and a slight fever. Fearing that the demon may have placed a curse on him with his dying breath, Tsubame bathed in water purified by the nectar of sacred lotuses and wrapped his arm in bandages soaked of the same holy water before heading off to bed. This however, was still not ennough to prevent him from having a terrible nightmare of bloodshed and destruction the likes of which he'd never though possible. The next day, he awoke to find himself sleeping in a pool of blood and torn flesh, his friend's bodies strewn all across the camp site and his hair having mysteriously grown to a wild, blood-soaked white mane over-night. As the horror of what happened revealed itself to him he heard a mad-man's laughter echo in his mind.
"Poor whelp, had you thought you'd finally purified me? laughed the demon Tsubame thought dead. No, my body simply rotted away because I had grown tired of my weak host. Now child, you will be my new vessel, and with your powers i will make blood rain from the very heavens!"
The laughter still continued in his mind and Tsubame saw his left arm, warped and perverted from the presence of the demon that now inhabited it. He could not take the horrid truth of what he had done and immediately climbed a mountain side, all, along the laughter echoing in his head and driving him to insanity. He could no longer take what he'd done, he found a tall cliff with sharp rocks at it's basse and threw himself from it's top, plunging to his willful death.
However this was not ennough, two day later he awoke again, once more in a sea of flesh and blood. No conventional means would kill him now and free him from this hell. He later decided to resume his pilgrimage. He cut his hair once more, wrapped his demonic arm in holy scrolls to seal away the demon who lived inside and vowed that as long as he was alive he would continue helping the poor and unfortunate as well as search for someone strong ennough to kill him to compensate for the murderous impulses of the demon that now inhabited his body.
a hundred and ten years later he still walks the roads of japan, not having aged a day, searching for one who could kill him and stop the demonic transformation that occurs within him once every four nights.
Weapons: Tsubame does not know the use of weapons but has become (excluding the Mantra weapons he can summon, but those are special) extremely proficient in non-lethal hand-to-hand and hand-to-weapon combat over the past century. If needed however he does posses a large scroll with him at all times containing various healing, binding and purifying mantras. The stronger purification mantras can even be used to free a human's soul and send it to the nirvana if needed.
Yaiba on the other hand only fights with the blades that protrude from his body and his extremely resilient and agile demon body.
Powers: Tsubame has gained excellent speed, strength and recovery capabilities from having Yaiba sealed away in his arm but as long as the sealing scroll remains wrapped around his left arm then it is nothing super-human. The ability to read divine mantras however is something not usually found in humans. Even monks who have attained nirvana can rarely read them and use them to their full potential. on RARE occasions where he feels he absolutely needs to save someone's life he will remove the bead bracelet around his left wrist and draw on a small fragment of Yaiba's power, allowing him to increase his speed, strength and recovery rate by 10% and to summon two scythe blades from his right arm.
Yaiba can't use the scroll but his speed, strength and recovery abilities far out class Tsubame's and he can gain more strength by drinking a large amount of blood.
Weakness: Though Tsubame's body can not be killed permanently, he can suffer from a temporary death until the next time Yaiba takes over his body, this only makes him half-immortal. Also every time he dies there is a possibility that Yaiba could take over permanently.
As powerful as Yaiba is, Tsubame's holy powers prevents him from taking over his hosts body completely, restricting him to his left arm. He needs to accumulate power for four days before he can take over the body and use it as he will, however he can only do this for a maximum of twelve hours before being sealed away again and relinquishing control to Tsubame. Living in the body of a monk, holy seals are no longer lethal to him but they do drain away his powers, allowing Tsubame to re-take control of his body more quickly.
Also he has a tendency to drag out the battles so that he can inflict as many wounds as possible. His obsession with blood can often be used as a means to defeat him or lure him into traps.
