Ok, so just to get things started here in Rec., I'm quoting the latest bit of on-subject random for critique. Quote: Now, we need a presentable face to the world. We have been attempting to do this via a website, but that has obviously not worked out to date. So, in the meantime I propose this. Some one (preferably one of the higher-uppers) needs to register us an address that we can receive mail from (i.e. a post-office box). It will cost a little money (about $38 a year I believe), but so would registering our own website (as how serious is the 10 millionth Geocities site going to be?); and we need some place where we can begin. Then, it's all about getting our name out there. Obviously we need to start small, but someone could come up with a flyer/document containing a teaser about our organization and some info. This could then be e-mailed to members of Novos who would distribute them by whatever means. The document would contain our newly made mailing address, and probably a web address to more info (at the moment, the best example would be the Bluewiki page). we wouldn't get many responses, but it's reasonable to assume we would get some. If we do link to the Bluewiki page, (and once again, a big thank you and good job to whoever had the initiative to get us up there) it will need to be cleaned up to make us a presentable and professional as possible. For instance, naming the directors based upon their forum aliases isn't exactly a drawing point. We'd lose a degree of anonymity with our real names, but it would decrease a feeling of mistrust/juvinillism that would be associated without such references. Questions? Comments? Ideas?

Defunct Adjectives If you happen to know anyone with web design skills (especially with PhP and MySQL knowledge), or if you happen to possess any yourself let us know as soon as possible. This goes for all new members. If we do want to get a real website, who would make it? We all, of course, would have input on the content, but someone with the necessary skill would need to put it all together. Deviant is a web page designer, but I believe that he said that did not have the time to make one for us. I could make something usable, but it would be nothing to brag about. I can do a lot with html (Example Web Page), but you need more than that to make an outstanding web page. I do know a small amount of php, but have not been able to do anything with it because of software problems on my computer. PS: That web site will not display correctly with FireFox web browser.

What we'll wind up needing eventually will be something more along the lines of: www.Novos.(org/com?) Or whatever we wind up naming it. It's very important that we have it as the website and not some Freewebs or Geocities or Angelfire or whathaveyou service.

I agree entirely, but it is also possible to put the page on a free webhost, untill it meets our satisfaction and we have the funds to pay for something better.
(that page we merely an example of what I could create, and yes I know it's not very good)

Geocities with a .tk address seems to be the most cost effective plan so far.
There may be ways of getting around knowing code right now. What exactly is this site supposed to do?

Basically, to act as a host we could direct people to if they have questions about the party or wish for more information. Other than that? Basically to do it all as nicely/officially looking as possible.

He speaks the truth.
Well, back on the subject at hand then... What about (after the manifeto and constitution are written) ways to get the word out? Would the mailing bit work?

I think not. Mailing in high quantities take money, of which we have none. Supposing that we do somhow accumulate enough to put the web page up, I doubt that enough would be left to be of use. I belive that all advertizing should be electronic, for now.

Paper handouts in each member's hometown would be relatively cheap.

Not so cheap for 5,000 papers plus ink plus printers plus transport to places that you can post the papers on . . . the list goes on.

I vote for electronic until Novos gets some kind of real income that can support such forms of advertising.

DAMMIT! I can't tell the difference between Aperium and Myslec anymore! It's like they're the same person with a split personality! AAAAAAAAAAAH! OMGWTFDOPPLEGANGERS!
But yeah. I do think we should start on a design though.

She's right, you two are so... there that it's even wierding me out a tad... Are you identical twins or something?
And ys, the handout thing was more of what I had in mind, but I don't think we'd need to start with something as grand as 5000, at least not all at once. A couple hundred each should suffice.
Though I can jus see some redneck from around here calling the FBI on my a**... Free publicity at least...
