i have a thought about the christain and the regular school.

why is it right to sperate the christains from the none christains. our job is to get the word out to others who have never even heard about god before. i know the christain schools are aloud to read bibles and talk about god and the teachers talk about god as well. i think we should get out to the other schools and show them what god has done for us. not hide in a school of only believers and never show the others who god is and how much better there life would be if they had him.

what do you think about this?

Nonchristian schools have teachers that make a deliberate attempts to lead Christian children away from the faith. It's not a matter of hiding from the world, but limiting the poison the world puts into our children before they are well grounded in the faith.

But there's a flipside to this situation that is often neglected. We're still allowed to read the Bible in school. I had mine nearly every day for the past year, and no teacher ever confronted me about it. There were times when other Christians had it hard from teachers, but it's a grab bag. We can still pray in public if we'd like. There was a group that met each morning by the flagpole in front of the school, and they were never harassed. We even had two Christian based student groups that were sponsored by teachers and the school.

yes i get your point. the thing is if god wants the child to be a believer he or she will be. a lot of the time and i know this by my own exsperiance that most of the time the christain schools are no better for the kids then the regular school. go will put the kids where he has planned in life. our job as the body of christ is also to help the teachers as well. maybe yours kids get in trouble for it but this is america they can teach our kids other religions but not the way of the christain. you fight for your kid show them it's ok to share the word of god with not only the students but the school staff as well.

i understand where you're coming from, but i have two counterarguments. first, you can't help someone come into the faith if you don't know how. christian schools aren't a place to hide, they're training facilities so kids can become firmly grounded in the faith and learn how to share it with others. second, some parents send they're kids to christian schools because of behavioral problems or other issues. the christian schools are better at helping these kids than public schools because they give the kids a reason to be good people. it's very hard to make morality important without using God as a reason for it, which public schools can't.

the christain schools are no better at helping out the kids then a regular school. i have heard more kids from christain school cussing others out then any regular school. also just because you send them to a christain school for behavior does not mean they will straighten out. the christain schools can try to help them but it might make them lash out worse if they force there faith on the kids. another think is Gods tells you how to comunicate with other none believers not any school.

just because their efforts don't always work doesn't mean that the christian schools should stop trying. and some christian schools are very nurturing and do not force their faith on anyone, but rather share it as a testimony to show the kids how much better a Godly life is. another thing, the Bible says to train up your children in the way that is right. christian schools can do that, but nonchristian schools can only teach academics. some students are well trained up in how to communicate with God and how to know his will for communicating with others. some students still need some help from other believers. a christian school is a form of fellowship, which God encourages a lot in his word. not everyone needs them, but they should be there for those who do.

yes and that is what your parents and pasters are for. to build you up in christ. all i am saying is that christains should not hide in there own schools and in the church. we need to be out there showing people how great out life is. showing kids tesitimony is good, but can also be bad. testimony could make a lost kid stray more thinking that they have to believe what they believe and there parents are forcing it on them.

okay you probably already got this cause I didn't read any of the replies. anyway I've been in a christian school all my life except for one year. From the two experiences here is the differeneces.
1. At christian schools your with everyone of the same faith practically. You don't have to be christian to be in a christian school. In my class and others there were Lutherins, non-christans, even a jewish kid who went there.
2. some people come there for better education. the grading scale is normally harder so you have to work harder to make the grades unlike at a public school.
3. If we did combine the two schools there probably woudn't be as many kids in the christian classes since they wouldn't be forced to do it unlike at a christian school it is a core subject.

I like the idea of Christian schools because you can learn about God and your faith but there is also the sheltering effect of going to Christian school that can be a little damaging because it keeps Christian school students from experience a lot the aspects of the real world that they will have to live in one day all on their own.....i think that maybe children should go to Christian School through elementary and middle school and then go to regular high school so they can get so exposure to the rest of society and how it works and how children outside of Christian schools are because these people and others like them will be their peers and colleagues throughout life.

Well, let me put it this way:
Not many people appreciate when you try to 'tell them the Word of the Lord'. I, for one, am completely okay with whatever you worship as long as you don't try to shove it down my throat after I tell you I'm not interested. I don't get violent, but I do get very outspoken and I'll often end up scaring the other person away with some kind of total nonsense, such as how I'm Satanist (I'm not.) and that I'll do something nasty or whatnot. xD I've already come up with several ideas in the event that any Jehovah's Witnesses knock on my door.
But either way, that's be a bad idea. I have a thought that less people would believe in your god should that actually come to be. Either that or some idiot that you've managed to convert will end up being the kind of person who uses the faith as an excuse to hurt people. : / Not everyone's like that, but hey, it happens.

First off, before anyone goes off saying "oh that's because you're atheist" I'm a Christian. A quite devout one, in fact.

I am against the destruction of separation of church and state and putting Christianity into public schools.
Why?

Well, one, I have very unique beliefs. And I would rather not basically be held hostage in a classroom and forced to listen to why my beliefs are wrong, why theirs are right, and why if I don't live by this, I am going to burn for eternity.

Two, not everyone is Christian. Not everyone will become Christian. This is a fact that we must face, otherwise we (we being the Christian community) will find ourselves facing even more hatred, disrespect, and mockery than we already are. To force people to listen to our ideas... It's disgusting. And it pretty effectively implies that the only way we can get people to convert is to MAKE them listen. Which, obviously, does not say very good things about our beliefs. confused

Three, like I said, everyone is not a Christian. How would you feel if you were Muslim, and your religion was not represented, but you had to listen to theirs?

Four, please get over this idea that everyone will be happier in Christianity. Because it is entirely incorrect. Many people are happier in agnosticism, or atheism, or Islam, or paganism, or Judaism.

And five, education is what school is for. It is supposed to prepare us for the workforce, for our careers, and for the rest of our lives. Religion, while it can be argued that some find themselves more ready to handle the real world with religion, does not always serve this purpose. Therefore it is irrelevant to the purpose of schools.

I prefer nice little public schools free of religious bias, thank you. Though it doesn't matter much, seeing as I've graduated.

Problem being; not everyone raises their children to be christian.

I'm currently taking an Apologetics Course at a Christian High School.
The first half of the year I was also taught how to properly study the Bible.

You don't learn that in public schools.

Also, God uses the teachers to show you how to communicate with non believers. He speaks through them, etc etc. That's why many people are called by God to go and teach Bible at Christian Schools. So God can use them to help train young Christians.

(i hope i worded that right. im horrible at wording things)
