There had been a heat wave recently, and so a lot of the fields were empty because the air was even hotter there. You could see a lot of the horses stalking around in the shade. And Nadia was no different. Her long mane, was sticking to the back of her neck and she looked around, and saw the heat rising off the ground. Her feather even seemed to be limp from the humidity.
"What a day..." She mumbled, slowly making her way to the small pond, she was there others were there but it was always cool in that area. And the water would feel even better. She was glad she didn't have a dark colored pelt.

Why was it so hot today? Alistair was wondering around looking for a body of water to cool down his body. He had abandon his cape and crown earlier at his resting spot. It was way to hot to be wearing anything today. After a ways of walking, he found a area where many different Soquili were gathered. Almost right in the middle of the area, was a pond. A little jump appeared in his steps and he quickened his pace. Blinking, Alistair's face broke out into a smile, as he spotted the slender shape of a friend. "Nadia," he called out, coming up to her side. He nudged her cheek softly in greeting. Her attention was focused mainly on the water, something the he could understand. Dipping his head, he took a mouthful of water. "Heavens, it is muggy outside today. Would you mind going for a dip?" He asked happily. He could tell that the heat was having a negative effect on her.

She was in an almost sleepy daze from the heat when Alistair came to her. She glanced over at him... She was a little quieter then usual, and sighed slightly. It wasn't that she wasn't happy to see him, but she just felt... Drained. She lost all her composure her head was hanging a lower then usual. She hated days like these.
"Yeah..." She said monotoned, to her friend, and she followed him into the water. It was like an instant relief. Her major arteries where in the cool water, and so her entire body was cooling down. She wanted to melt into the water, and she leaned forward to left her face and neck get wet.
It was nice to feel her hair not sticking to her, and she straightened back up. "You came a pretty long way~"

Walking forward into the water, Alistair almost purred when he sunk into the relief that it offered. The cool liquid surrounded his body. He could almost feel his body temperature lowering. Taking a deep breath, his eyes fell close. He dipped his head once, flipping his now drenched hair around. His long locks retained much of the water. Crystal eyes opened to look at Nadia. He could feel drops of water dripping down his face and neck. "It was worth it," He smiled happily at his friend. His wings flapped once. It always felt odd to get his feathers wet. He chuckled, staring at his equally drenched friend. Something seemed off about her today, besides the weather. She seemed distant from him. Treading closer to her, he brushed against her side. "How are you feeling today, Nadi?" Alistair smiled, nudging her with his nose.

The cooling water, Nadia was thinking of what it would be like to be a mer or kelpi on days like this to just be able to engulf ones self into the water. But the thought had been broken when Alistair got closer to her. She could feel her body heating up, and she started to blush. Such behavior, it was typical of Alistair, but it always caused the mare to blush. She felt such behavior of being close to others out of a relationship not proper.
She snuffed softly, trying to regain herself, trying not to make eye contact with the others around. "Tired mostly... You know hot days like these just drain me." Humidity was tough, the air quality was lowered so it was harder to breath, and it was easy to sweat.
"But enough about me, tell me about what you've been up too. You live a much more interesting life then I." Nadia liked hearing what Alistair had to say. Since he would travel out there, she could about the new from his area.

It didn't take much concentration for Alistair to begin to relax. While he didn't enjoy the 'after effects' of swimming, he did like the relief from the heat. And the act its self wasn't half that bad either. Though, the way that his dark (and already heavy) tail clumped up together into one big messy mass was hard to comb back into the beautiful curls that it usually held. His mane dried out some what faster, but still held tangled that just made his hair look silly. "I would not say that," Alistair smiled sheepishly back towards his female friend, objecting to her saying the her life wasn't nearly as exciting as his. While he did travel from time to time, to see the world and visit friends, it was no where near as exciting as being a knight. "You makes days, even hot ones like this, enjoyable." Alistair's nose bumped teasingly against Nadia's. Taking a slow breath in Alistair spoke, "You know about Chandra, right? The mare that I... had feelings for?" Alistair waited for confirmation before continuing. "I don't think that I'm going to be spending as much time with her for awhile." His voice fell a to a softer tone. "She decided that Sonnet, another close friend of hers, was the one who was meant to be her mate." A sad smile fell upon his face. "And- I just want her to be happy, you know?" Talking about it didn't make him feel very better, but Alistair knew that only time could take care of that.

Nadia watched over Alistair as he dried, the one thing about his hair was that it knotted easily. So she would help him make it neat again soon. She smiled at him, glad that she was able to bring enjoyment to his life, she let him bump his nose into hers. She couldn't help but blush a little, he was so affectionate... And a knight needed to be able to be on their guard. Well not all the time, but affection always surprised the mare.
"Chandra?" Nadia repeated. Yeah she knew the mare... It was because of her that she didn't get to be around Alistair often. Well it wasn't solely her, and she knew it wasn't right to blame the mare either. But she was protective of her friend. Of course that meant that Nadia had to check the mare out, and would occasionally watch her from a distance, unseen... Nadia looked out, and felt like such a loser suddenly for it. And sighed inwardly.
"She took on another?" This meant that Alistair was, dumped. In flat terms. Nadia had never been in love or had feelings of affection for another, so she didn't know how this felt for the stallion. She watched as his face changed, and she took a step closer to him. She used her nose to carefully pull his mane's knots out. What she wanted to say was 'I'll kick her flank!' But she knew how Alistair felt about her... And that might not have been the right thing to say. As a matter of fact, she had no idea what to say period.
"You know... If this Sonnet fella... Just sorta disappears..." She smiled at him some. It was purely a joke, because as much as she would do anything for Alistair she knew that he wouldn't ask for harm to come to this stallion. Nor did it follow her knightly code.
