In the forest surrounding the wery along the path is a tree with a strange geometric carving carved deep in its trunk. The marking lead to a curving stream that has the start of a dam. The water is slightly mucky, a impervised shovel in near by, and in the mud is both human and dragon tracks.

Kahlin lifted the heavy rock carefully in his hands wading into the wet water to the damn. 'How does R'ael do this? Sure he's build like a herd beast but this is tiring the water is draging.' He pushed the rock onto the forming damn. 'Well that four.'He leaned agaisnt the damn catching his breath honey hair wild around his face soaked and muddy. Wearing only a pair of breechs cut off just above his knee his skin splatted with mud. 'R'ael better get here soon.' Kahlin looked up watching Sonia chirp a minnow in her claws.

The bronze flit swoops into the clearing shortly before R'ael appears, a satchel of food over one shoulder. This time he hasn't brought his Blue, who is back at the hold for sake of saftey...and just not to be underfoot, interactning instead with a few other other dragons. "I brought lunch, you can stop trying to throw out your back now..." He says, hefting the bag aloft.

Kahlin laughed looking at him with bright purple blue eyes. "It might be to late for that." He said tone teasing as he wadded over to R'ael. "You didn't bring your dragon. Dicide if might be for the best if he wasn't underfoot or drawing attention?"

"I figured this way people are a little less likely to pay attention to where I'm going if I don't want them to." He says, laying down the bundle with a grin. "Besides he gets tired from the walking."

"True. Having a dragon follows you draws attention." Kahlin got out of the water shaking the drop lets from his body before strolling over eyeing the bag. "Food." He said slightly pleading.

He unties the bundle, revealing still warm sweet fruit pastrys and a closed container of something to drink. "I thought I'd go with a change, nearly got my knuckles rapped but these should still be warm..." He says, offering one of the several he's taken.

Kahlin grinned taking the offered pastry and bolted it down licking his fingers off afterward. "You where right working with rock and shoveling muck really does make you hungry."

"It's worse at sea, beleive it or not. Something about salt air makes everyone hungry..." He picks up a pastry himself and munches on it, sitting down on the grass. "It looks good though, this is really going to be something when it's done."

"You sound a little distracted...whats bothering you?" He inquires, propping himself up on one elbow as his Own flit hovers by the water, searching for small fish.

Rikk flutters down and lands as a small but solid weight on Kahlin's knee, staring pointedly at the young boy, humming softly. "A very heavy weighing nothing...." R'ael notes, flopping back on the grass, though he doesn't press it further for now. Kahlin has a tendensy to speak about things on his own time. "Another round of Weyrling classes is starting, they're talking about the dragon colors, and first aid, and talking to them. All that sort of thing."

Kahlin smiled at Rikk. "Hello Rikk." He said softly listening to R'ael. "I think you already talk to your blue just fine." He finished his meal. "The first aid sounds intresting though."

"Well I suppose it can't hurt, you know?" R'ael says consideringly. "They've been doing this for a while so I suppose they wouldn't do it if they didn't think it was important..."Yeah the first aid is probably really going to drive it home what it's all about for a lot of us...fighting thread..." He pauses a moment, staring out over the water thoughtfuly, lost, himself, in thoughts, as Rikk settles down and looks comfortable, humming placidly. "Did you get enough to eat?"
