Final Fantasy XI's best memories.

I remember starting this game almost 7 years ago now. Its hard to imagine its been that long really. I played for 5 years of my life never really to worried about how soon I would get to the next level, or camping a NM, hell I was always so poor throughout my Career as a Paladin, I remember a few times I had to actually ask a few strangers for 100gil to rent a chocobo. But I remember meeting some of the best people in this game, had a gf in game (yeah yeah w/e), some amazing friends I'd talk to every day, and Link Shells I was in for years at a time, all of which typically derived from the previous either for a name or color change. Things would happen and people would get angry or happy with one another, genuine emotion was portrayed through this game which is what enticed me so much about it. The world felt real, hell as far as I'm concerned it was real and one of the best times of my life.

I know my other people have had a strong impact on them or great memories made in this game. These following videos are proof of that.

So I ask you What are some of your fondest memories of FFXI.

I can only hope FFXIV will allow me to create new memories just as great as the ones I made in FFXI.

Oh it seems like it was only a few weeks ago that I started playing FFXI. So many fun times, with such neat people. One of my favorite memories was the first time we took a boat trip :3 Who knew the Sea Horror would aggro you through the door, and with it closed he could kill you? >.< Thank goodness I got scared when I saw him and used my Reraise Earring lol. Then a Mithra tried to kill it, and she lost D: Poor gal, but luckily a PT member got her a Raise XD

lol that was a good one... one of my favorites is when you got the nm to attack us and got yourself, mei, and me all killed razz

Hahaha... I've played this game for about... 4-5 years. I've loved it. I played it pretty casually, took a few breaks. My favorite memories would also be my worst ones...

-Losing claim to Charby like 6 times, getting screwed out of Joyeuse like... 5 times. Finally a guy solo'd her for me, very cool player.

-Having to solo-tank Cerb after taking two near back-to-back Gates... I felt like such a hero.

-Getting faceroflol'd when I ran out of Shihei against Khim... so my BLM buddy had to trade to me in the middle of the battle. xD

-Getting killed by Nidhogg... then staying as far away as possible, but still getting AOE'd. I died so much that fight... ._.

-My first time in the Dunes-- not knowing anything... haha... everyone in my PT was lost. smile On the same note.. getting surprised when I saw 75s running around. 'Oh, cool! It's a SAM dude."

-My fondest memories are the most recent. When I joined my last and final LS. Persistence. Imagine a bunch of veterans who've basically done whatever they wanted, coming together to just dominate the game one last time before quitting. They weren't all friends-- infact they were all from different rival LS at one point, haha... but they all just made persistence for the spirit of FFXI. I'm glad to go out with such a bang... they taught me about being selfless, patient, focusing on the task at hand...
