I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. Please move it if it is.
So...
Is there a full karaoke/instrumental version of Suzuki Airi's "Tsuugaku Vector"?? I'm starting vocal training lessons in a few weeks and I might have to audition... and "Tsuugaku Vector" is the song I'm best at singing, so I was wondering if there was an off-vocal version?
Thanks. biggrin

This probably is in the wrong forum, but that's okay. I'll move it when I'm done with my reply.
Tsuugaku Vector is an album song and album songs usually do not have instrumentals (there are special exceptions, like some of Morning Musume's early album songs). So there's not an official instrumental, but that's a pretty easy fix. Us dubbers cover album songs and B-sides a lot, so we have a solution. ;D It's easy to try to make an instrumental through Audacity. I emphasize the word try because it all depends on the song itself. You can only trick your ears into hiding the vocals, but it more often than not takes out pieces of the instrumental or you can still hear a bit of the vocals. Still, it's better than nothing.
Could you just sing it a Capella? That might be your best choice; homemade instrumentals work for dubbing but I can imagine it can be distracting without controlled mixing.

OMG KOKORO ACTUALLY DID GUILD WORK? im tired of guild work ):< lololol... wrong time for this.
With audacity though, i believe you still need a direct song from like the cd though. if the song has been transfered numerous times (or so i've been told) the quality goes down. and make sure its 320 kbps, there are still poor quality rips out there ):
But just a little tip, if you want to go for complicated or you want to go for a more wow feeling, you probably shouldn't do tsuugaku vector, the vocals stay in a pretty constant range so it wouldnt showcase talent to the fullest.

Hm... okay. Well, I buy the cds so I don't think I have trouble with that... 3nodding
Well... I think it's more impressive to be able to sing in the same pitch the whole song, instead of bounce around all over the place like some singers do... But that's just my opinion.
Thank you everyone for the help!! ^O^

Most rips are in the right quality, but really, it's hard to get a clean instrumental even when you have a high quality rip.
Since this is for vocal lessons, I think a consistent pitch is good. If you were trying to get into a vocal program or something, and you were looking to make an impression, then something more challenging would be better, but since you're looking to improve anyway, just sing something comfortable.
