Shevaun suddenly slid, grabbing onto a door handle and stumbling. Running through, Lance caught up. Before he fell over the balcony she took his hand and pulled him back.
"Check this out."

Lance lent over the edge of the balcony, still with Shevaun holding his hand to stop him from falling over, and stared out into the massive room before him.
"Oh my God... It's so big! There must be thousands of books!! It's wonderful Sheva'..."

"To be exact-there are about five million sixty-nine thousand eighty three books. Maybe a few thousand novels and history books."
She dropped Lance's hand and peered down as he did, measuring the distance down to the floor.
"Stairs are for chumps. We'll get around faster without em'. Don't cha' think?"
Before waiting for a reply, Shevaun perched herself on the balcony railing-facing him-and perked up her eyebrows with a grin.
"Hope these heels don't kill me when I fall."

With a spin she flipped off the balcony; landing below with a loud clank.

Lance stared down at Shevaun who was now standing on the ground floor looking up at him.

"Ooo-Kay... My turn I guess..." He said as he grabbed hold of the railing and swung his legs over.

Lance felt like he was falling for ages, before hitting the ground with a slam, forming a crouch then rolling over to one side to try and minimise the force from the impact hurting in one specific area.
"Ooof... Haven't done something like that for a while..." He grunted as he stood back up.
"Don't you think a portal would've been less harsh?" xd

"Oh." Sheva thought to herself. "Yeah, probably..."
Shrugging, she clicked on, looking towards a bookshelf.
"We'll do that next time. Promise."

"Okay, Good... I look forward too it..." Lance said, slightly strained.
He streched his arms upwards untill his back clicked.
"Ahhh... That's better." He said, walking next to Sheva as she gazed across the books.
"Looking for anything in particular??"

"A history book." She pulls a few off the shelf-scanning through each one.

With a sigh, she places them on a table and lifts off of the floor. Up above the middle shelf-Sheva grabbed a few more.



"Catch these, okay?" She waited to see if he was ready.

"No problemo" Lance grinned.
Looking up, he held out his arms to catch the books she was choosing from the shelves...

Shevaun dropped about five books down to lance, gaining more height to reach the top shelf.

Lance caught the books fairly easily and placed them on the table with the others and turned back to see which other books Sheva' was retreiving.

"Do you think there are any books relating to Alchemy in here?"

"Most likely,"

Shevaun's feet met the ground gently, her eyes glued on the cover of a black book.

"All of these are centuries old." to prove her point she blew a layer of dust from the binding, revealing the date: Jul. 13, 1893. "This is the book of Solstice, Lance. This is the history of this place."

With a little bit too much enthusiasm-Shevaun settled down at her book inhabited table and pulled out her notebook.
"Lance," she began. "do you want me to help you find yours before I start reading? "

"Nah, that's okay. You've already settled down anyway. I'll just wonder around and see what I find." whee

Lance slowly set off down between a couple of book-cases, looking all the way up to the top and back down each couple of steps...

"Cool," Shevaun nodded, opening a few. "So what are you looking for anyways? Spells?"

"Something like that...
You're obviously aware that I like to summon my 'Ensis Exsequens', the 'Sword (of the) Executioner'. But in order to summon forth a weapon, or any object for that matter... It must already exist. We just pull it through the dimentions to reach us. Sort of like your portals Sheva'.

Now with Alchemy, remembering that the first rule is: "Human kind cannot acquire anything without first giving something of equal value."
If I was out in battle, I could use my surrounding environment to create myself a weapon.
For Example; turning a rock into a sword. The rock would be gone, but i'd now have a sword.
You can't create something from nothing you see..."

"I see..." Shevaun said as she turned the page. "So when and how did you learn to do this?"

"I haven't truly learnt the techniques for alchemy... I've only heard stories of work that's been done. However, I have learnt some basic prep' work needed for this subject.
That's why a book on alchemy would be so valuable to me..."

Shevaun nodded, more to herself than anyone else; and stared into her book.

"Tell me when you find it..."

Hey! Found a diagram for the Transmutation Circle...
It's what you need to draw out to be able to perform more complex Alchemic processes or for more advanced techniques.

Shevaun jumps up and runs to the aisle Lance was in. Standing on her tippy toes to look over his shoulder.

"Ohhhh." She switches to the other shoulder. ""That is so cool, Lance! We should do one now!"

Yaowa walks by with a book in hand when she spots them.
"Hello what brings you two to here?"

"Yaowa," Sheva greets the girl with a hug. "How are you!? We're just checkin' out the new library."

Yaowa hugs her back."I would never think you would come and look in the library." She chuckles." You mostly stay clear of books."

"You're just in time Yaowa! I was about to try a little bit of Alchemy with Shavaun... Stand back Okay?
I only know the basics. And i'll need some white chalk if you know where I can get some..."

"Oh well i carry some with me all the time you should do it to comes with knowing all the basics." She hands some chalk with a smile."I could give you some later."

"Man Yaowa. That was cold."
Shevaun smiled and reached in her pocket. "I've got a marker if you..." She suddenly felt stupid and rolled her eyes. Portal. Duh.

"Here, up top bro."
Shevaun snapped her fingers, opening a small portal above Lance. A pack of Crayola White chalk appeared and fell into his hands.

"That wasn't meant to be rude he knows what hes doing just saying I could tell you were to get some sorry."

Lance chuckled to himself as he pulled out a stick of chalk and drew out the Transmutation Circle onto the floor of the Library between some of the desks.
It was a 1.7M wide circle, but it took him almost no time at all to finish it...

He walked over to one of the desks and took a wooden chair, placing it in the centre. He stood just a step away from it and pulled on a pair of pure-white gloves, they looked like fine cotton.

Lance clapped his hands together and then slamed them down onto the ground one hand each side of the chair.

The circle lit up, blue light shining upwards as if coming out of the chalk itself. The chair also started to glow with a faint blue light before it crumpled up into a glowing blue orb, hovering just off the floor.
The orb then seemed to shrink, reforming into the shape of a rectangle.
As the all the blue light/glow faded, there was a metal box, almost like a briefcase, sitting where the chair had been.

Lance picked it up as he stood up and poped the catches on it, opening the box as he turned to face the girls.
Inside was a complete set of silver coloued throwing knives.

"These little beauties where formed from a random, simple wooden chair... A useful art, isnt it?"

Shevaun grinned. "That's cool. But," with a giggle. "I wouldn't give you time to do that if we were fighting."

"Well... I could predraw the circle before a battle. And when I get better, I could perform the transmutation in a matter of seconds."

"I could help you out with that I'm pretty good with that." She smiles at Lance.

"Hmm..? You've heard of Alchemy too??"
Lance turned to look at Yaowa with a slight hint of suprise on his face.

"I'm glad you two get along." Shevaun said, eyeing Lance and returning to her table.

"Huh? What do you mean by that Shev'??"
Lance turned away from Yaowa to watch Shevaun as she returned to her place.

"Nothing." Shevaun said. She suddenly felt weird and turned to stare at Lance. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

"... Okay then.." confused

Lance turned back and bent down to rub the chalk off of the floor with a cloth.

Shevaun watched Lance walk down the hall and continued to read.

After cleaning up the floor, Lance threw the dirty cloth into a bin and tucked the Alchemy book under his arm before continuing to look along the shelves for more books.
