Somehow the current version of the constitution does not have any provisions for ratification. I need to leave now, so start coming up with ideas in my absence!

Maybe I'm just clueless about this kind of thing, but don't we use the "majority of board members" rule (which is elsewhere in the constitution/by-laws)?
ALthough, I suppose we'd need to ratify that to sweatdrop

Article VII of the US Constitution is about ratification. An article about ratification just states what needs to be done for the constitution to be ratified. I propose: The ratification of the constitution by a 75% majority of crew members, shall be sufficient for the Establishment of this Constitution between the members so ratifying the Same.

I think it's a better idea to allow regular members a chance to vote on this as well. Rather than it being just 3/4s of the crew needed to ratify, what about 3/4s of all active members?
EDIT: fixed.

I'd like to do that, but about 153 members out of the total 164 have not posted in months. I find it unlikely that many would return suddenly to vote on a constitution that they know nothing about. If we want to do this, we should PM every member of Novos who has not been actively participating recently.

As for deciding when to ratify it, I think that it should be an almost unanimous decision among active members.

Unfourtunatly we are not nearly ready to start thinking of when to ratify it, but I think it should be put to a vote of the full membership upon unanimus vote of all crew members.

I thought that we decided that full membership voting wouldn't get us anywhere, I suggest only active-member voting. That way, if an inactive member wished to vote, all they would need to do was make a post on Novos to become eligible.

Yes, but the full active membership should vote, and they need to participate if we are to expect a good voter response

Well then, if that's to be the case we may be going about this a bit backwards.
What we should do thn (imho) is to put up a few of the important Articles for review and ratification, then start pming some of our old active members to ask them if they wish to participate in the voting process. By putting up some of the more important bulets of the Constitution we'll increase the liklihood that any who decide to look in will actually vote. Obviously we can't vote on anything involving policy curently, but something about the guild's general organization could work...
