What is Calvinism? ok.. i did see that word in some of the other guilds forum and... i dont get it.
Can somebody make the Holy Trinity a little bit clearer? I kept thking about it but it just wont come to me...
and what about Nightmares? who do we have to have nightmares? what is their connection to the evil one? My Mom get nighmares of having ghosts around her and trying to take her with them!!!
Oh yah, ARE GHOSTS REAL??! question question question
romans... catholics love calling them ROMAN CATHOLIC...dont they even know the bad things they did for jesus??? they are the one who crucified him!

If I need to be specific about spirits.. here we go.
I have been experiencing, well, ghosts stuff since we went back to Philippines for the burial of my aunt (Mom's elder sister).
After that, we experienced having our doors locked without no one inside... or no one touching the door. My uncle (mom's brother in law) also saw a lady in white with half body at the back of our house! (which is... our house is covered with trees at the back.) my Cousin started hearing someone calling her name... AB... AB... AB.... repeatedly, same in the airport (or should I say airplane?) she started hearing someone thanking her for the visit.My mom started feeling someone touched her... I know thats a lame one.. confused
But for me... I started getting visions of cats that have their head off. Plus, dreaming outloud... AUNTIE....AUNTIE.... (Mom said while I was sleeping I repeatedly called out her name) I started seeing shadows that moved so fast... i dont know! and some of our helpers saw her in our bedroom! (side view)
While others saw her weeping and taking out clothes and flipping through pages... I don't really know but it makes me believe they are real... stare Plus, they say that once you die, you have to find the road to heaven... thats why there are lost souls... but I dont believe it, because when we die, we go to the Place of the dead right?
I know about the Trinity.. 3 persons in one GOD, The father, the son and the Holy Spirit... I just wanna know how come there are 3 when they say there is only one God... makes me confused now.
And I feel something strange... I started being depressed... sad, Insecure... I look sad even though Im happy! why! I know that this has something to do with the evil one but... i don't know why im feeling that way.
Calvinism... Dont answer that, just got curious anyway.
Now, about the nightmares... Im not sure why or how we get it.. but, My uncle (the uncle who lead me back to christ) said its got to do something with the evil one... its that evil one that tried to steal our spirits thats why our spirit is struggling and we HAVE TO FIGHT IT sad
Problem is, my mom gets that too often now, mostly about ghosts or spirits.

Calvinism can basically be summed up as predestination. God has chosen who is going to Heaven and Hell and there's nothing you can do about it.
The Trinity is harder. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all three God, but they are separate.. personalities? That's good, but not best, because they're more than just some guy with Multiple Personality Disorder. They really are separate, yet they really are the same God. "I and the Father are one." Stuff like that.
Nightmares.. I don't know. Dreams aren't my thing. I tend to take a more psychological approach to them, though I do believe that God uses them to communicate when He so chooses. You're better off asking someone else about that.
Ghosts? Yes and no. Please be more specific. Spirits in general? Left behind souls of dead humans? "Ghosts" is a broad term.
About the Catholics.. I like going at it with a Catholic as much as the next guy, but I gotta stick up for them here. They weren't the ones who crucified Jesus. The Romans technically did it, but the blame is better laid on the Jews.

I'll get my old text book out or see what I can find online. I believe it might have been one of the religious groups of the earlier settlers then again it could could over from England. They are separte but make a complet and attatched circle. It's part of faith. One of those things you can't really grasp but simply is. I think,not positive, that ghosts, as most humans perceive them are not real. Not sure how to answer the Catholic question as I was raise a Southern Baptist and converted to Catholocism to marry my first husband. I do not agree with many of their beliefs. I claim no label now. I am a Christian. Peace and Blessings

I know that in the Old Testament times certain people had dreams and visions which would tell them either specifically or sometimes vaguely of how Gods will was going to be carried out. I believe that God can still use dreams and visions to communicate to people, but I dont think it happens as often as it did back then. Because now we have the complete cannon of Scriptures which is Gods revealed will for mankind. Also, if a dream and/or vision does not line up with Scripture i would not accept it as truth. We have the bible as our standard by which to measure and compare what others claim to be truth. Otherwise anybody could waltz into church and claim they had a vision or a dream and that it was from God .. and how would we know if it was authentic and truly from God? We should always go to Gods word for our guide. If something doesn't line up w/ Gods word then we should not accept it as truth. Calvinism is just as VK described it, a belief in predestination. Don't be fooled, though, there is no such thing as predestination, God has a grand plan for everything, but He chooses to let us decide whether or not we go to Heaven. All we must do is trust in Jesus as our personal lord and savior. xd
Ghosts? Spooky subject, hehe. Well, from what I've heard from church, is that the only ghosts out there are demons from hell. I also heard that ghosts have something to do with large quartz deposits, quarts being a material to store data and all that. Sounds silly, huh? rolleyes And if anything else, yes, they could be lost souls, though how, I do not know; I only use ghosts in stories, so I wouldn't know.
As for the trinity... I have no idea how to explain it, it's just one of those faith things that you know instinctively. Sorry if I only answered the general questiones you had sweatdrop

What you need to do is devote yourself as often as you can to prayer and the Word. The Bible says that if we draw near to God, He will draw near to us, and that if we resist the devil, he will flee. As to where we go when we die.. There are passages on that. There is Heaven, and there is a Hell. There are passages in Revelation that say things like "And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." Some people will tell you that there are other spiritual places besides Heaven and Hell, and for now, they are correct, but ultimately there will be only Heaven or the lake of fire (Hell). About the Trinity - Consider this passage from Acts 2:34-35 "For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand, until I make thine enemies a footstool for Thy feet." The first usage of "Lord" is the Father. The second is Jesus. How do we know this? The LORD is often attributed to the Father, and scriptures tell us that the ultimate supreme authority and power is the Father, even above the Son who is in submission to the Father. But we also know that it is Christ who sits at the right hand of the Father, and it is the Lord who has the Earth as His footstool. It is acceptable to use the term "LORD" for both the Father, Son, and Spirit. As you read and study the Old Testament more and more, you'll notice that certain places and actions that the Lord takes are the Father, others are the Son, and still others are outright acts of the Spirit. But they're all "the LORD." They are the same being, and yet they are three. I don't even begin to know why this is, but I do know that God died for me, and God crushed Him in His Holy Wrath upon the cross. It's one of those ultimate questions, where if you keep going back and back and back you reach a basic point at which you can go back no further with your reasonings. I can't tell you why, I can only tell you that they are. I cannot tell you how an electron moves from one energy level to the next without actually crossing the space in between levels, I can only tell you that they do. I don't know why you feel that way either. My advice to you is the same as I gave you for the ghosts. Devote yourself to prayer and the Word. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Prayer is your best weapon against anything that's assaulting you. Isaiah 54:17 " No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper; and every tongue that accuses you in judgement you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD. Take comfort, friend, the battle belongs to the Lord.
