I was just reading Ballantyne's Coral Island and I was wondering if anyelse has read it, as well, any other classical novels or stories that you have found amusing.
I've heard that Coral Island and Lord of the Flies are comparable though, but aside from a few names and being on an island, I cant really see how?
If you know, let me know, other wise, just post any cool stories that you have read.
Cool stories I have read:
The Coral Island Legend of Huma Book of Three Taran Wanderer The Alchemist First Born Breach in the Watershed The Farseer Trilogy - Assassins apprentice, Royal Assassin, Assassin's quest
Those are just a few, I can tell you the authors if you would like.

Oh gee. I used to read a lot before I discovered fanfiction and RP. This is going to end up as a pretty long list. But yes..books I would recomend..the bolded are especially good.
The Art of War (English Translation Available) The 36 Strategies of War (Really short, also available in English) Follow My Leader Savage Sam (sequel to Old Yeller) The Black Stallion (series, I've read them all except for Man O' War) Journey to the West (Full version not avaiable in English, as far as I know stressed ) Gulliver's Travels (Original version, not just Liliput or Laputa) The Jungle Book (Original version, all 5 stories. My favorite is the second one, Kotick) King Lear (Little known Shakespere sweatdrop ) Joy Luck Club Balzac and the Little Seamstress Saving Fish from Drowning (just published) Child of the Wolves (also really short) Riding Freedom (likewise shortness) Eye of the Dragon (Stephen King) The Cuckoo Tree (bizarre) The Stolen Lake (even more bizarre) The Masque of the Red Death (Poe) Conquero Worm (poetry by Poe) White Fang (all time favorite) Beowulf Gilgamesh (hard to understand)

Hmm...Unfortunately I don't read much anymore, which can be blamed on the computer, anime, and video games xp Though I'll still list the ones I liked the most!^^
-Tuck Everlasting (author unknown) -Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell -Song of the Lioness (all 4 books) by Tamora Peirce -Wild Magic (first 2 and maybe the 3rd) by Tamora Peirce -Broken Sky (first 2 maybe more) by Chris Wooding -Phantom Rider (all 3) by Janni Lee Summer -Fear Street (haven't read them all but I've read about 10 so far...and own over 20 x.x) by R.L. Stine
There are some more but I can't remember their names xp Though I love Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth (I've only read the play versions though). I also read some of To Kill A Mocking Bird, and I really liked it^^

I've just been reading Flowers in the Attic, and it is one the of most screwed up books I've ever read, it actually bothers me reading it. I stopped, but I decided to finish it...
it has lots of incest and crazyiness...
It was written by V.C Andrews

Hmmm.......I don't really own any classical books besides of Anne of Green Gables. xd
But I do like these series and books:
All books by Meg Cabbot (Mediator, 1-800-Where-are-you, Princess Diaries etc.) Eragon, Eldest Confessions of a Vampire's Girlfriend Lullaby All books by Lurlene McDaniel (Tragedies crying ) Through Wolf's Eyes, Wolf's Head Wolf's Heart Blue Moon Rising Janey's Girl Kingdom Keepers The Dating Game oh..Vampire books that I can't remember the title of xd
As you can see I tend to lean towards fantasies with a dark twist but I also love tragedies, comdey romances, and such. ^^
