I have some mixed emotions about the Toxic Drop.
First of all, is it wrong for them to use a crisis like this to make money? Yes, it is. However - they are donating to the cause. So I have mixed feelings regarding this whole issue. I see posts in the forums about them (Gaia) being greedy. I'll bet those same people who are bitching about it haven't donated a single dime!!
What bothers me the MOST about this item is the descriptions they used for the animals. This is NOT a joking matter. Has anyone seen the actual photos of the oil covered pelicans and wildlife? The dead fish and animals? People are losing their only means of income from the shrimp & oyster business and therefor, losing their homes!! Our local beaches are preparing for the oil spill to reach us.
Descriptions: And I wonder ... what were they thinking? Were they laughing when they made up despriptions and giving each other a high-five and saying "That's a good one"
The Toxic Drop Announcement- A slimy new item has washed ashore in the Cash Shop: the mysterious Toxic Drop. Rigel and I have already cleaned a few and discovered some seriously cute critters buried underneath all the gunk. (Mintaka & Rigel are in CA!!! They haven't done S**T to clean the oil off the animals!!!)
Merele the Pelican - I lost my family... But now I've found YOU! (because the bird's family is all dead - this struck a nerve with me!!)
Pebbles the Hermit Crab - Pebbles wants to move but hasn't finished paying his mortgage. (like I said, it's a huge crisis)
Puffy the Fish - puff puff puff puff (the poor fish cannot breathe!!!)
I'll tell you what..... do a search with the keywords "oil covered animals" or check out these links:
