What does God view towards people who take their own lives?

What if they believed in Jesus but didn't want to live in this life anymore? Do they go to hell?

Please tell me in your own words & don't be all like "don't kill yourself, why kill yourself, I'll pray" etc.

I'm just curious.:/

Well, I'm not that mature, but from I've heard from my youth pastor, I think that you'd go to hell if you commited suicide, because He (as in God) wasn't ready to take you yet. When you decide to kill yourself, you're basically saying that you don't want to work for God--or anyone--anymore.
If you believe in Jesus but don't want to live the Christian life anymore (I'm guessing that's what you mean, if I'm wrong please state otherwise.) than you might get yourself in sin and go to hell also, because He posted the 10 Commandments and more for the cheif purpose of saving us from his wrath.
Is this making any sense to you?

Kinda, but I'm mainly saying while a person believes in God. What's the sense?

Don't stop asking questions. The Bible said: "Let's reason together.."

Obviously, I cannot speak for God and HIS view on people who take their own lives. I doubt that God condemns those who commit suicides. However, He created every being, He gave you and me His breath of life. Now what we do with the body He gave us is up to us. We can choose to treat it well, or we can choose to destroy it.

People go to hell, when they have rejected Jesus. I don't know for sure if this concerns you, but if you reject Jesus and His salvation, you will go to hell. It doesn't matter if you live a long (worldy) happy life, or if you commit suicide.

If you are truly a believer (not just for show), consider 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 - "Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body."

God's law says we are not to murder. Does it consider our own bodies? The Bible is silent on that. However, as the Creator of your life, God has ownership of you.

Life is not fair. It is very hard many times. God knows that. But God promised that you will get to through the storm to the other side. As a believer, you have Jesus next to you.

Do you that poem "Footprints"? It is kinda cheesy, but it illustrates God's love and care for us very nicely. *BTW, nobody really knows who the true author of that poem was*

Well, suicide is murder, and murder is sin, we know that committing suicide is a sin.
I can say that you'll probably get different views for your question because the Bible doesn't seem to be clear on what happens to those who do commit suicide.

    My thoughts towards your questions:
I believe that God would be saddened if you took your own life. He took great care to knit us together in our mother's womb. And our body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. He gave us the gift of experiencing this life. It seems to me, by committing suicide, we'd be throwing that gift back at Him.
Walking with Jesus is going to be really hard at times. And our hard times teaches us to lean on and trust Him. If we commit suicide, how can we learn that?

Even Paul mentioned in the NT that he was tempted with the idea of ending his own life so that he could be with Jesus. And I'd say Paul believed in Jesus. But in the end, Paul did not give in to those temptations. As for going to hell, I mentioned my thoughts on that above.

I love that poem! Beats me who the author is... apparently the person prefers to be anonymous... blaugh

So... about suicide. I'm sure killing yourself won't take you straight to hell since you're already saved by the blood of Jesus. Like what Pawz said, imagine the look on our Heavenly Father when he sees what you have done to yourself and chose to control your own life instead of trusting Him and letting Him take charge.
God, just the thought of it brings me to shamed tears...

Infinite Virtue Says
I'm not one to judge. But since your asking okay...
I believe killing yourself is a sin, yes I do.
Murder is a sin, and our bodies are our temples, We are to not harm them.
So therefore killing or harming our bodies is a sin, wrongful doing.
