Mistborn is an epic sci-fi/fantasy trilogy about a group of allomancer criminals trying to overthrow the tyrannical ruler of a dying world. Allomancers are mages who get a certain power from certain metals. Mistborn are allomancers who can use all the metals. It's fast paced, has some of the most awesome fight scenes, humor, excellent worldbuilding, interesting characters, and the best plot twists EVER.
And a pretty hawt/awesome primary character, by the name of Kelsier. THE SURVIVOR LIVES FOREVER.

Imagine a book series with the action and introspection of LoD, the camaraderie of Dragonlance, and the brillaint structure of LotR. That's Mistborn. I honestly like it better than LoD (though it has no Drizzt), and everyone in this guild owes it to themselves to read it. There might even be a movie sometime.

Sounds prettty fantastical. Who's the author? I've been looking for a new series...I got bored with Tom Clancy and I need something to read until October.

It's all put together in a very believable way. I should warn you, the books are addictive.
Brandon Sanderson wink .

hahahaha XD I just figured out that you put the author into the title. wow. im a little oblivious....

you know what's weird though.....it seems quite similar to Avatar: The Last Airbender. With the people who can control different elements and the Avatar who can control them all...trying to overthrow the Fire Nation's King who is tyrannical and all.

It still seems pretty awesome though. I will see if I can find it. Is it usually under Sci-fi or fantasy in book stores? I'll check both anyways but it would help.
